My Mom hung the phone up, after I was on for 15 minutes....all through high school. Mom was way too strict. Of course, I got 20 minutes, if it was a girl. Boy, no way....

Sounds like my family! I was one of 4 kids and with one phone in the house for 6 people, my parents had RULES and enforced them!! Needless to say, we weren't too happy about that!

Today, I got home and my mother wasn't home. I thought she might have gone to the grocery store and left my brother home, so I yell upstairs to him, "Brother, are you home?" And then he shouts back, "No!"

Street lights were few and far between where I grew up. For goodness sakes we weren't locked in the house, it was just preferred to be in unless we had a campfire, which was often.

Oh I wish we could have had campfires as a kid. Unfortunately, there was some local ordinance in the town I grew up in, that prevented those. I was a deprived child . . .

I went to get my splint adjusted today and they had those there...

Does anyone have a good weather forecaster? Ours say's it's sunny when we look out the window and it's raining.

And what gets me is that no what what they tell you, even if it's wrong, they still get PAID!! Heck, I want that job!!

Mom made us deny our link to the Blackfoot, we lived in a very bigoted community. During the 40's and 50's. I graduated in the 60's, wasn't much of an issue then. But, Mom looked out for us kids. Poor daddy , I know it hurt him. Such is life.

That's very sad for your father; sorry to hear that he was hurt. Everyone has the right to be proud of their heritage.

@Cesar R M , I hope you're continuing to feel better each day. Recovery after medical procedures is never quick, but each day usually brings a bit more relief. I see you posting a lot on the various forums the past few days, so I figure that's a good sign!

Anyone watching that new show, The Astronaut Wives Club (ABC)? It's on now (8 PM, Eastern). I have it on in the background and it's a lot better than I thought it would be.

And, in other news...

It looks like we may actually have a WDW trip comin' up...!
The girls (both DD's and DWifey) are wanting to participate in the Disney Princess 5K (along with myself and DS ) this coming February.
And yes, if running/walking a 5K is what it takes to get me to WDW, I'm VERY OK with that...'cause we do that and more during a day in the Parks anyway...!!!!!

Funny, that might actually happen this year with this crazy weather, Colorado (high desert), looks like Florida, my onion sets are drowning. More strong storms rolling in this afternoon. Hubby wants to check out sink hole insurance, ha ha.

With all the rain we should be growing water lilies.

Well, tomorrow is the big day. We have an early morning flight; should get to Honolulu at around 2 pm local time (8 pm eastern time). We're staying at the Hilton for a few days and moving to Aulani afterward. Not sure how good the Wifi is at the Hilton (three years ago it was absolute carp; hopefully it has improved), but I know it's decent at Aulani. So if you don't hear from me other than "Yes, we safely landed" for a few days, that's why.

Interestingly enough, all of us qualify for TSA Pre Check. Don't know how that happened; but we'll take it.

A little nervous, new airline, unfamiliar airport (Salt Lake City), but it's part of the adventure!

I just wanted to let you all know that I won't be on the boards for a couple weeks, hubby and I are off on our Europe trip. When I come back and have readjusted to the time I will post pictures. We will be in Paris, a day trip to Normandy, Disneyland Paris, and London. Everyone behave on here!
