Whats the real story behind Spectromagic, did they lie to us?

We were told that Spectromagic would be gone for 90 days and get a refurbishment just like the Main Street Electrical Parade did. After that 90 days the Main Street Electrical Parade would end and be sent back to DCA. Not only did they have us fooled they probably had them fooled to. Not only is Spectromagic the first show to disappear off the face of the earth the Main Street Electrical Parade is still at Disney World and within those 90 days when Spectromagic was supposed to be in the shop getting refurbished they left it with the elements and it "accidentally" got destroyed and the WDW keeps the Electrical Parade. Was that just their way of avoiding internet controversy before all the changes were made?

Honestly I never liked Spectro so it really doesn't bother me, but like everything that comes out of TDO I wouldn't believe anything they say until it actually happens

Does it really matter? What are you going to do, call up management and call them liars? Is there some kind of problem with them possibly thinking it's coming back and then finding that it isn't worth it? It's gone, it's not coming back... get over it. And I might add, it's only a parade. It's not like they sold you an empty oxygen tank.

No. They didn't lie. When Spectro ended, MK park operations were honestly intending to bring the parade back after three months.

Unfortunately, the gulf between "intent" and "actual plan" is fraught with horrors....like accountants.

The story that I heard was that due to the space occupied by Festival of Fantasy, the Spectro floats were moved outside where they basically rotted. If Spectro were to ever have returned, it would have only been specific floats that survived, or new recreations of floats would have been built. Given the choice between the two possibilities, Disney chose to retire the parade.

I sure hope some of them make it to the Main Street Electrical parade. If Chernobog survived they could play an electronic version of night on bald hill to baroque hoedown. I also thing the symphony units survived, that also would make a great addition if they could tweak the music.

This is your 15th thread on this subject... When will you accept the truth from the credible cms about this former parade already?

They couldn't keep the floats in a "safe" place where they wouldn't rot? Well now that's sad.:(
That would require an airtight building filled with an inert gas. Taking them out everyday and running them in the Florida, sun, humidity and rain would also have to go.

Everything rots in Florida.

If you want the real story, get hired by Disney. Otherwise stop complaining, We may love Spectro and wish it was back but its over, time to move on
