Being ancient, and so much "older" than you, and times were so different in my day...:D I'm sure I could learn a thing or two from you. But, at this age, I wouldn't know what to do with the info.;)
Well, you could just put your head back, close your eyes and think... Wow, that Dude is something else!

I liked it.
You can seldom go wrong with a buffet. Not gourmet, but plenty of selection.
Buffets also tend to offer your best chance to fill up on salad and veggies. Gotta get some fibre somehow while on vacation.
Fiber is not necessary on vacation. It is just there for an excuse to visit the Themed Restrooms.

you going as tourist?

also Israeli Visa as in Israel citizen to US? or US citizen to Israel?
I'm staying for at least six months. I am going as a new Israeli citizen, but I intend to come back to the U.S., and have dual citizenship and go back and forth afterwards. I'll be staying with a relative and seeking the brain pool of Israel's high tech industry to get a business started for an invention I have.

Just wanted to let anyone who cares that I got approved today for my Israeli visa. They sent me more forms to fill out and sign. It looks like I just may make it there for my May 19 target date!

Yay! (I have butterfly nerves right now)
I've always wanted to see that part of the world, seeing all the ancient sights. If possible take some pics, I would love seeing them. Most of my travel is through other people, I'm okay with that. All the best on your travels.

It's funny. The Israelis I've been dealing with at the agency office in Miami can't understand why I - an American - would want to live in Israel for an extended period of time. The lady I've been working with told me she took the job in Miami so that she could get out of Israel and because everything was too expensive there. She warned me several times about the high cost of living and that it wasn't easy to make it over there.

I guess they don't realize that when you've been trapped in the suburbs of southern Florida near the rural edges of town for decades, a change of scenery does wonders for the soul! Lol

You have all the history there to explore. The excitement of just living in a "hip" urban environment, etc. And not to mention that I am but a hop skip and a jump away from Europe, which I am dying to explore... Very affordable airfare from Tel Aviv to Euopean destinations...

Just the change alone will reenergize me and the hardship of living will be worth it, especially because I'll be coming back to the states, and I only need to survive during the length of time I'll be staying!

Forgive me if this is showing on your computer, I can't see that I sent anything.
My father was never a big movie fan, especially if he had to battle mosquito's to do so. The only movies he ever went to that I recall were Abbott and Costello or Martin and Lewis and The Music Man (but, that was indoors). All others went unseen.
Mom liked the Disney movies, so we saw them at the Drive In....dad went along to drive and have a dog. Plus the drive In was much cheaper than the theater.

I think I'm having big computer issues...that happens with thunderstorms...don't know why ...I'm getting messages on top of messages and my phone goes out often....

Doesn't sit well with me either, but I'm biased being a teacher. In a nearby town, the district was/is facing a 2-3million dollar deficient and the answer was reducing staff, giving teachers and other staff pay cuts, and taking away some promised retirement benefits. Many of the citizens at the board meetings were in favor of the pay cuts and taking away benefits. One of the quotes from the newspaper was "if the teachers love their jobs and the children this shouldn't be a hardship for them" I guess that person forgot that the teachers/staff still have their own families to provide for. :( Oh and this district is already remodeling the high school too...Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now.

It is beyond frustrating. Having to balance a budget, our budget is always balanced unlike some. Too many do not grasp school funding so though not deliberate one gets a lot of stupid from the community and staff. If the budget is
X and funded from the Feds, State and Local and the state only sends half of what they committed to we are in immediate freeze. A couple of years ago we had 10% of our budget not delivered. Fixed costs for staff, insurance, utilities could not be touched and neither could special ed. What got cut was extracurricular, conventions, any projects that had not been contracted out, stipend extra duty, it was ugly and nothing we had done wrong, they just didn't send a chunk of funds we were appropriated.

My beef is with the state and feds. I have a book 3x's the size of a Bible of school state and Fed Codes filled with mandates we must provide that when concocted they were to be fully funded by the lawmakers. Reality is we get about 20% of what a current teacher or aide costs. We have one SE student on a vent and in a wheelchair. We must provide a special bus, an aide, a RN dedicated to this student. Yes I'm committed to educating the student. What I have issues with is the State and Feds not forking over what is 'real' costs, it is a drop in the bucket in compared to what one student costs with very special needs. I love that budgets for each year are online now. Anyone can look at them and see where the money is going. It is a messed up system of funding.

I love the pics. What are those beautiful flowers? I would love to have these, but alas we go to Disney early in june, prime planting time here. When I get back most everything is picked over, and anything left is petunia's. They are nice, as I like all flowers, just nothing special.
I have no idea about the names honestly.
But most of these flowers are in full bloom at least 4 months of the year.

My mother as one that produces purple flowes.. that ALWAYS bloom.
lines and lines of flowers!
