Crab rangoon! If I could only reach through the screen! :D

Gotta love crab rangoons.
Ok, thank you for reminding me I need to go to the chinese buffet.. I really need my doze of chinese :hungry:

I hadn't had any Chinese in a while and I was craving it. There are no good Chinese restaurants in the town I live in, but since I was out of town today I was definitely getting me some Chinese food.

As the expression goes, "When it rains, it pours." Sorry to hear that you've been dealing with so many family members being ill, all at the same time. You do seem to maintain a positive outlook, though, and that's so important. I hope that things get better all around, and that you can get a nice little break here and there for yourself as well.
Thanks! I'm most thankful all those in my house are generally VERY, VERY healthy. Being here when I can and FINALLY being able to start planning my next trip also helps.

If I go on a trip, I pack the night before. :) In this sense, I am the entire opposite of my mother. I recall that she would start the packing process a few months ahead. Now, Jennifer, that didn't mean that she put things into a suitcase--no, she'd have none of that.

It was practically a ritual. She had a metal, fold-up rack that would hold maybe 12-15 garments on hangers. This was the "trip rack" and was ONLY taken out of the closet and assembled, for setting up her clothes for a trip. :hilarious: Then she had all these "bags" -- garment bags, shoe bags, jewelry bags, accessory bags makeup bags, and notions bag for travel sewing kit, nail kit, Q-tips, etc. About 7 days ahead of the "big day" she would then iron and neatly fold her clothes into the (two, at least) suitcases, and check things off on her travel packing list. This was serious business! ;) :p
What's wrong with that? :D:D:D

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Been watching the news reports this morning from Illinois, on local, national and the Weather Channel. (@Cesar R M , thank you for posting those 2 storm videos as well.)

@Gabe1 , I'm not sure exactly where you're situated in Illinois, but when you can, please let us know if you and your family are o.k.
Yeah, I checked in a couple of times overnight to see if she had checked in yet.

Well, if that doesn't prove that the "magic" of Frozen is starting to thaw, nothing does. Perhaps Disney should let all those Frozen plans melt away before it's too late. The fact that you haven't watched it in that long would be like @JenniferS admitting that "Titanic" was a terrible movie that made a fortune by exploiting a real life tragedy that killed thousands of people. We all know that ain't gonna happen!

No, they were basically the same. I'm talking about DC8's, and newer. The no smoking thing is probably around 30-35 years old by now. The average capacity back then was around that, but, the planes were much smaller then today's are. I have never noticed any real difference in room over the years on standard jets.

1988 2 hr or less flights
1990 6 hr or less flights - but pilots were able to continue to smoke
2000 all flights

I was just thinking the same thing . . . @Gabe1 , everything o.k. in your area? (Is Walt o.k. too?)
Gabe is everything OK with you? We were all worried.

It was nasty but we are fine. Lots of down stuff, lots of water, my neighbors basement has water with a current.
In and out of warnings for tornadoes all day. They missed us. Amen. Still we had 60 mph sustained winds, river went over but all the mess I just look at the towns that are flattened, many of which you will see roofs on ground, foundations but no clue to what happened to the house that was between the roof and foundation so we were blessed.

Prayers sent to those who got hurt and/or had property damage. I'm glad you are OK and will pray that you and everyone stay safe.

One of the entertainment options on sea days is Hasbro:The Game Show. I had watched Youtube videos but it was so much fun in person. :) The program was held in the Ovation Theater and was formatted as if you were a member of a live broadcast audience. Two "stage hands" came out to pump up the crowd and split the theater into a blue and red side. Then the host, Cruise Director Matt, came out and it was "roll film".

Matt used Scattegories to pick four contestants from each side, two adults, two kids. On a video screen was a clue with an alphabet letter. (For example, an animal that starts with K--kitten. :cat: ) To be chosen you had to be one of the first to stand up with your hand in the air. (We had arrived later than planned and had to sit in the balcony. :( ) Eight contestants chosen it was game time!

The first contest was a lifesize Connect Four. The contestants used blue or red balls to make four in a row to win. Surprisingly the adults were having a hard time but the kids were sinking all their shots and won the game for the red side. (I stink at basketball and would probably have been booed off the stage. )133810.jpg

The winning team then were shown a rack full of Monopoly "ATM" cards each with assorted game pictures on them. After each one had chosen their card Matt made them imitate the sound of whatever was on their card. :hilarious: One of the winners chose a pretzel! When asked he made a "burbleburbleburble" noise. Matt asked him what that was and the kid said "My stomach, I'm hungry!" :joyfull: That was a good laugh. Those winners were then shown to contestant row.

Next was commercial time while they set up the stage for game two. Anyone know what they are making in this vintage ad? :bookworm: :geek:

Repeat stage hands pump up and "roll film"! The same selection process was used but this time the game was Guesstures. (Earlier during the day they had filmed eight random cruisers doing charades to whatever word they were given to be used in the show. I thought that was kinda cool.) One of the clues was dancer and in the video the guy pretended to strip and dance on a pole. :jawdrop: Too funny how many men jumped up with the answer! :D My daughter looked at me and said "Now that's just wrong!"

The next contest was Simon Flash. For this they only picked adults because they had to wear computerized blocks that were too big for kids. A colored sequence was flashed on the screen then the teams had to arrange themselves to match it. Best out of five, the first in the correct order and placing all their blocks together won. carnival-hasbro.jpg

Same process as before with these winners as the others were brought back onstage. Each contestant then had to tell Matt why they picked whichever card they did. One lady had picked a thimble. o_O Matt asked her why and she said "I have a hole in my pants!" :joyfull: Matt then pretended to check her out to find the hole! (He was such a funny guy.) The contestants then took turns putting their card into the Monopoly "ATM" to see which had the highest value. The winner was a lady that chose the cell phone. Her prize was a gift voucher (worth $250) from Hasbro.com for all the games played in the show that day.

We waited until the theater had almost emptied and wound up walking beside the winner on the way to the elevators. She was reading her voucher and not only had she won the version of the games played on set but the electronic and jr. editions too. :greedy: We all had a laugh that at least she didn't have to try to pack them all in a suitcase for the flight home. :geek:
