One of the entertainment options on sea days is Hasbro:The Game Show. I had watched Youtube videos but it was so much fun in person.

The program was held in the Ovation Theater and was formatted as if you were a member of a live broadcast audience. Two "stage hands" came out to pump up the crowd and split the theater into a blue and red side. Then the host, Cruise Director Matt, came out and it was "roll film".
Matt used
Scattegories to pick four contestants from each side, two adults, two kids. On a video screen was a clue with an alphabet letter. (For example, an animal that starts with K--kitten.

) To be chosen you had to be one of the first to stand up with your hand in the air. (We had arrived later than planned and had to sit in the balcony.

) Eight contestants chosen it was game time!
The first contest was a lifesize
Connect Four. The contestants used blue or red balls to make four in a row to win. Surprisingly the adults were having a hard time but the kids were sinking all their shots and won the game for the red side. (I stink at basketball and would probably have been booed off the stage.

The winning team then were shown a rack full of
Monopoly "ATM" cards each with assorted game pictures on them. After each one had chosen their card Matt made them make imitate the sound of whatever was on their card.

One of the winners chose a
pretzel! When asked he made a "burbleburbleburble" noise. Matt asked him what that was and the kid said "My stomach, I'm hungry!"

That was a good laugh. Those winners were then shown to contestant row.
Next was commercial time while they set up the stage for game two. Anyone know what they are making in this vintage ad?

Repeat stage hands pump up and "roll film"! The same selection process was used but this time the game was
Guesstures. (Earlier during the day they had filmed eight random cruisers doing charades to whatever word they were given to be used in the show. I thought that was kinda cool.

) One of the clues was
dancer and in the video the guy pretended to strip and dance on a pole.

Too funny how many men jumped up with the answer!

My daughter looked at me and said "Now that's just wrong!"
The next contest was
Simon Flash. For this they only picked adults because they had to wear computerized blocks that were too big for kids. A colored sequence was flashed on the screen then the teams had to arrange themselves to match it. Best out of five, the first in the correct order and placing all their blocks together won.

Same process as before with these winners as the others were brought back onstage. Each contestant then had to tell Matt why they picked whichever card they did. One lady had picked a
thimble.

Matt asked her why and she said "I have a hole in my pants!"

Matt then pretended to check her out to find the hole! (He was such a funny guy.) The contestants then took turns putting their card into the Monopoly "ATM" to see which had the highest value. The winner was a lady that chose the cell phone. Her prize was a gift voucher (worth $250) from Hasbro.com for all the games played in the show that day.
We waited until the theater had almost emptied and wound up walking beside the winner on the way to the elevators. She was reading her voucher and not only had she won the version of the games played on set but the electronic and jr. editions too.

We all had a laugh that at least she didn't have to try to pack them all in a suitcase for the flight home.
