Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace switching locations late next week

They began selling Dole Whip at Sunshine Tree as well late last year. Much shorter line.

I was just going to say...they already sell Dole Whip at Sunshine Tree Terrace, and there's almost never a line...

Good grief, please don't take away Citrus Swirl - again! Remember that awful creamcicle type version they had for a while, ugh. I still miss the Strawberry Swirl, I can't deal with losing the only remaining swirl!

increasingly convinced that we're overthinking this and they'll just switch where "dole whip" is on the maps/menus and that's all they'll need to do.

Why would they get rid of the OB sign and figure? They have merch out on him. Aloha Isle, too.

I'm not buying the Citrus Swirl removal rumor. Considering how popular an iconic it is, not to mention the outcry when they changed the formula, it would be an odd move to nix it from the park. I mean, I doubt it is that expensive to make and I'm sure it makes up for it.

On my last trip, the Citrus Swirl machine was broken and, based on the response, almost every customer in the three lines that were waiting was looking for that one item alone.

My guess is that the move is based on theming and crowd control.

I'm still confused as to why they're doing this. Does one location use less floorspace than the other?

It seems it would be easy to offer both options in the renovated restaurant as well. Perhaps it would offer food choices that hint at Florida agriculture to include seafood, beef, and citrus as an homage to the Orange Bird.

I bet they use Aloha Isle for the restaurant renovation for extra seating.

Citrus Swirl is made with frozen orange juice so its likely a bit more $ to make. But that's why its so unique and yummy!

I was there in September and having never had a Dole Whip I got in line for one. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes and line hardly moving I gave up and eventually got one at the Poly later in my trip. With the length of the line I actually could have left MK, got one and the Poly and been back faster.

Since the demand is that high do you think WDW would open ANOTHER location so guests can be served more quickly, No they would rather save a few pennies and make guests wait and ultimately walk away

Just another example of stooping for pennies while dollars fly overhead.

Excellent point - at least DoleWhips can now be enjoyed away from users of portable air pollution.

Look at your park maps. There is no longer a smoking area next to Aloha Isle.

Improves the theming. With Sunshine Tree next to Tiki you had Pacific next to Florida. Move Aloha Isle there and you have Pacific next to Pacific -- better.

Yep. And Arabia right next to that.
