So, just trying to clarify. Starting on February 25th, you can book your lunch reservation up to 120 days out just like other dining reservations, and then at 30 days out, you can pick your menu, correct?

So, I am literally going to be in the Magic Kingdom on 2/25 and want to book a lunch reservation for that day at Be Our Guest. Does that mean I have to wait until the 25th to book a reservation for the 25th? Or can you start booking reservations on the 25th for some day several months out from there?

Based on what the article says you select your menu option starting 30 days prior to your reservation.

I checked MDE and I cannot make a reservation for Be Our Guest for lunch even though I will be there <30 days from now.

Right. Choose your menu items for your reservation....but not specifically when you can make your reservation.

Just to clarify, Regular ADR are 180 + 10 days out, not 120.

I could just imagine someone getting up at 5 am, positioned perfectly in front of their computer, logged in waiting for 6 am to roll around to start making ressies at 120 days... checking for restaurant 1-not available, 
restaurant 2-not available, 
WTH? restaurant 3-not available.... 
now they're getting irritated ...restaurant 4-not available-UNMAGICAL!. 
Cripes, I've tried getting some reservations at 170 days and been out of luck, and I'm not taking BOG, I could only imagine 120
. If I can save someone that drama... By all means!

Ha! We actually didn't even book our trip this time until 135 days out, and at 121 days out I was able to get a dinner at Cindy's Royal Table! Believe me I was shocked! I was also shocked about getting a Star Wars Galactic Breakfast and Chef Mickey's. Stranger things have happened....
However, if I do find out that I can get on at 12:01 am on February 25th and get my BOG lunch for May (because that one is all booked up our whole trip for dinner ), by all means, I am there!!

When in May are you going? We will be there May 5-12 and I was shocked at what I was able to get ADR wise. We didn't book until just before Xmas.Ha! I wish there was clarification on when to make an ADR. I assumed it would be the normal 180 days and then at 30 days out you could start press lectins food???

May 26th thru June 3rd.....not soon enough if you ask me!! I was pretty much able to pick and choose everything that we wanted and even the times that we wanted, not to mention, I've changed a couple of bookings from their original time even.

Same here...I was so shocked at all the availability that I kind of went a little crazy and reserved too many! lol we have narrowed it down though! We were even able to get CRT on Mother's Day and I switched our ADR time several times as we kept going back and forth between breakfast and dinner!

My suspicion about CRT is that people know it's going down for refurb, but not when it's coming back out of it. Also the high price and the popularity of BOG would increase availability of reservations.
As for BOG lunch, I was hoping to either get a FP or go standby on the first day at MK (I'm having dinner at CRT on day two). But I'm going late April, and won't get time to even attempt booking a reservation for lunch until the weekend after reservations open (University starts that week.... Grrrrrr....) Will standby still be an option?

That part is unclear. I would imagine all capacity will be taken with reservations.
Reservations open on Feb 25, then the 30 days out is for choosing menu items.

Which is crazy when you think about it. Now you have to book fast service lunch months in advance?!.
Granted, this is no ordinary fast service lunch but it just highlights how poor the other options are in comparison, covering every aspect from perceived food quality, decor, and ability to find a seat and eat comfortably at a table big enough to handle your group.
Not meaning to be a whiner (even though that's what I'm being) but lunch at a Wendy's in a mall food court is usually more "magical" than the cattle heard that is ordering food and trying to find a place to sit at pretty much all of the other locations. Frustrates the heck out of me when I walk past Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern, Aunty Polly's and another place that no longer has a name but we all know is still there, on a day when the park is busting at the seams and the only options available seem over-capacity.
