When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I am inexplicably in a really bad mood. No reason for it.

In fact, it should have been an awesome day, considering the following:

- Son #1 started back to school today.
- I just got back from the travel agency, having made the final modifications to our trip and paying it off in full.
- I dropped off all the stuff for our charity garage sale tomorrow, unearthing all kinds of "treasures" in the process.
- I picked up my car today. The bumper has been repaired (not replaced), annual paint protection was applied, car was undersprayed, and fully detailed.
- Judge Judy appears to be an episode I haven't already seen a dozen times.

And yet, I feel really pi$$y. Let's blame the weather.

After some of the events of this week, I guess I should be in a funk, but, I just can't be.
We missed both the viewing and funeral of an old friend.
We lost a treasured pet, who left us way too soon.
We have a wrecked truck and all that goes along with that particular brand of fun to deal with.
I missed a day of work and will really need to put it in high gear next week to get my design schedule back on track.
But, we sent our apologies and condolences to the friends family and they beyond completely understood and wished us peace.
We miss Indy, but, we are so very lucky to have had his beautiful soul in our lives for even the short amount of time that he was.
We are able to either fix the truck or replace it as we feel necessary.
And, of course, the most important thing is that the kiddos were not hurt in the wreck, and we're all healthy.
I'll take it...! ;) :)

Crazy, crazy weather today.

Standing in the hallway an hour or so ago - looking out front, daylight; looking out back, dark as midnight.

Hubby and I rushed to the grocery store hoping to beat the storm. Didn't.

The thunder and lightning seems to have simmered down, the temps plummeted 15 degrees (almost 30 to you), and I had a 60 calorie cappuccino from my Keurig.

Maybe starting to feel better. Like I said, let's blame the weather.

While at the grocery store, I noticed something new.

Friday night is grocery night for our itinerant farm workers. In the past, our seasonal workers have always been Jamaican.

Without realizing that I've seen this all summer, it suddenly dawned on me that they all seem to be Mexican this year.

I can't tell you how much I admire these men, who leave their families for months, and come to a very foreign country, and work very hard, doing jobs our Canadian youth are "too good" for.

They are paid well, and treated well; but wow, what a culture shock it must be.

Hubby just reminded me - TMI alert - that I may not have a uterus, but I still have ovaries, so maybe "it's your time of the month".

Men. :cautious:

Think I'll have another cappuccino, and not smack him.

Yep, same in the good ol' USA. They work their cans off in jobs that most Americans scoff and turn their noses up at.

We have a little community of Mexican migrant workers working two of the big farms here. They come here is spring and will be leaving mid-October. They have a small mobile home park, playground and church set up for their use. It's quite interesting because it's located next to an Amish/Mennonite community.

Finish that cappuccino, go to the store and buy a whole big fish. When ya' bring the fish home and he asks why in the heck ya' went to the store right now and bought a whole big fish, calmly unwrap it, grab it by the tale, and slap him across the face with it...!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)

Nah. Him, I like.
He was just trying to be "helpful".

Probably would prefer to think I'm having "women's issues", as opposed to just being a big *itch.
