Is it sad that I knew where this picture was taken simply by looking at the ground?

PS- I may or may have not been looking up nap pictures...

When I was pregnant with my first I decided my hair was too long and cut it to just above my shoulders. With layers. In mid-July. It had been to my mid-back and I was able to let it curl naturally. After the cut I had to wear it in a clip for the remainder of the summer or it would curl to an awfully unflattering length. I no longer get haircuts during humid months. I can't be trusted to make good decisions.
I almost did that on Monday. My stylist stopped me.

or a Western Kingbird? I think you're on the right track....

I was guessing Couch's because the yellow breast goes all the way up to the neck - the Western seems to stop short. And it has a notched tail (like the bird in the photo), while the Western has a flat one. But it could also be several other birds. Sometimes location, season, and behavior (along with size & song) are needed to make a more definite identification.

Plus, these are not familiar birds for me. I've got most of my local ones down pat. ;) I had no idea of how many birds are around here until I put out a variety of feeders. I have a dozen different species stop by every day, and just as many now & then. Some are seasonal, some are shy.

We haven't put the AC's in the windows yet, so the air inside is pretty clammy too. DS and his wife should be back tonight from WDW. They'll hang around for a bit tomorrow before heading back to NY tomorrow.

So unfamiliar with that. So used to just goin' over to the thermostat and turnin' on either the heat or the A/C as needed.
More than once, we've used both during the same day. :)
