Nope, forget that... Go get your spot for Wishes or Illuminations... Just hope that you don't sit in an area that is a FP+ reserved area...

Was the ride coming back up from a downtime? When I worked there, we would sometimes keep the Standby line closed for a bit until the Fastpass line could have a chance to clear up.

Well, it would take a Space Mountain CM to confirm that there was a ride stoppage but I agree that without further information, the most likely culprit was some sort of shutdown.

And yes, I agree, this sort of thing happened with FP too.
