Thanks so much!! All good ideas. I'm calling now to see what's available!Never give up! Even when we didn't have a reservation a head of time, people cancel plus the no shows!
However since Disney is now charging for no shows, it may be less. I am not sure. Plans change and people cancel so you best bet, in my opinion is
1 call to see if they have any openings rather then the web,
2 the closer to your travel time, call daily,
3 ask the front desk to help you at check in to see if they have a reservation available
4 walk up and see what the wait time is and you will probably get in with some no shows.
Hopefully you can get in! Wishing you some magic to get what you want![]()
R for bitthdays. I am not a fan of the food but cool atmosphere. My kids love not so much daddy.Chef mickeys is great for arrival day!
Are you thinking of Chef Mickeys or California Grille? We haven't done it yet, heard its okay but it seems like the place that is a must try...can't wait to watch Wishes from up there...
To add to this post, am I able to request a table close to the windows once I arrive or should I try and call the restaurant directly for that. It didn't give me anything to put that in the online reservation I made...

You can't see Wishes from Chef Mickeys...at least not very well...it's inside the Grand Canyon concourse.
Yea at the back of the buffet there is a window where u can see MK not the best view but any view is great to see wishes. No I know Chef Mickeys doesn't have a great of view as Cali Grille, but there is one area in the restaurant that you can actually see the fireworks from...hopefully we get seated near there...
Hi!! I really want to get a dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys for dinner Nov. 6th, but 8:50pm is the only available time? Is there a chance something will open up? I was thinking about calling instead of looking online.[/quote
I would advise taking the 8:50. You can always cancel it if a better time opens up. What time are you looking for? Dinner at 8:50 is certainly late, but not horrible. I recently had a 7:00 am breakfast reservation. My son has medical issues that makes being up and ready at that time of day difficult. I approached the Host desk the day before and asked if they could accommodate us with a later time. I was told to just show up when I ready and they would still accept the reservation. Now that was going later, not earlier, so I'm not sure if that would matter.

I know you can see MK so there is a chance.I am not convinced you can see Wishes from Chef Mickeys either.
It must be a limited view...and one I just have never seen...we are always somewhere else when wishes is going on...for our 30th anniversary last Sept. we watched Wishes from the outdoor observation deck on top just outside the Cali. Grille. Many people stay at their tables, and they dim the Cali Grille lights, but we go outside for an amazing view.I know you can see MK so there is a chance.
Yes I was there for my anniversary a couple years ago it is great. It must be a limited view...and one I just have never seen...we are always somewhere else when wishes is going on...for our 30th anniversary last Sept. we watched Wishes from the outdoor observation deck on top just outside the Cali.
