Chef Mickeys

During our last trip to WDW, we ate at Chef Mickeys and we were put in one of the two (2)(I recall) rooms that are elevated and on the MK side of the CR. They had shaded partial-height windows that looked out on the SSL and MK so Wishes should be viewable through these windows, although we were never there late enough to test the theory. I will add that the audio would seem to be a problem in Chef Mickeys and I really enjoy the viewing platform just outside the concourse on the 4th floor. Audio and viewing spots galore.

Can anyone go out on the concourse on the 4th floor? If we are done with dinner (have 2 small kids so we tend to eat fast) at the time wishes starts it may be a good idea to run over there?

To OP- just keep stalking online for ADRs...while the site can be glitchy, you can search MANY more times per day online vs. calling. Openings are most common to pop up within the last 45 days before your trip...especially those last few weeks. You just never know when something is going to open up...but if you can check MANY times per day, you're very likely to find something. And by many, I've checked as much as 100+ times per day if there's an ADR I really want. Sounds crazy, but I've always had success. And it's easy...all you have to do is make sure you have the meal type (I wouldn't pick a time unless you're looking for a more specific range), the number in your party and keep hitting the green "find table" button. Every time you hit it, it refreshes your search. Good luck!

Yes, anyone can. There is usually enough air movement to dissipate any smoke, and it is certainly not a problem. We have also seen plenty of guests use the stairways by the concourse viewing platform to choose not to be adjacent to the few who still smoke.

We booked Chef Mickey's for 2 nights in a row, for when we go there in September! 8:25 and 8:50..little later than what we wanted for the last day, but whatever. We might be able to watch Wishes while we're eating!

Keep trying! Your chances will be higher the closer to the date too since people cancel. Chef Mickeys is one of the credit card holds I believe so I am sure people will be cancelling and not just doing a no-show.

People cancel all the time. Take that time slot and keep chking. I've been lucky they usually let us in earlier than our resies.

Yes call. You are over 3 months away. You should be able to do a better time than that. For some reason the online reservation system is terrible for getting dinner reservations. I booked for Chef Mickey's at 90 days out this year and got my time but online there was nothing. Two years ago for a holiday weekend (Veterans) I also got a reservation at 90 days out for the time I wanted and again online said there as nothing. From the restaurant you can not see Wishes, at least not very well. The restaurant faces the South end of the hotel. You'll hear the explosions but won't see much. You have to head to the balcony on the other end of the fourth floor to get a good view. You'll have a view of the whole park but you probably won't be the only one there.
