Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi there,

So we are staying at BC in Feb. My parents are staying at an off property resort. They are coming to see me run the race. On Saturday, to rest my body, I am staying around the BC all day. Not a bad day if you ask me. :) But we wanted to have my parents meet us there as we will not have a car to get to their place. Can our guests use the pool? This is not a pool hoping question so I don't want to cause a big ruckus. Its a, my mom and dad are meeting us for lunch can mom use the pool with me question. Any insight here is very helpful!

Thanks!

Ha! True! I would happily pay. I just don't want a ruckus when I want to get them in. Plus, my dad has every intention of just laying in a lawn chair in the shade sipping milk shakes so he won't even use the pool! :)

Don't know it this helps, but on one trip my in-laws were staying at another Disney resort and they came over to ours to baby-sit and they were able to use the pool with our kids. There was not any issue of them being registered at the hotel, or with pool hopping.

Thanks! My parents are coming to see me run the race. They have a Marriott time share so it doesn't make sense for them to stay at a Disney resort. I hope there is no issue. And I don't want to wear my body out in the parks with them so we are thinking of a day at the pool to relax would be the best. I will call the resort this week and see there policy. I hope it is not an issue. :)

I'm sure there would be a parking fee since I don't know where they would park if not in guest parking and there usually is a tag associated with this or license plate registration at guest services. Have fun!!!

I will be with them though so I can't give them my key as I will need it. I didn't even think of parking. There won't be a fee and I'm sure that they can just get a guest pass. Kind of like when you are resort hopping to check out the resorts.

I wouldn't think there would be a fee for parking short term, they could always say they were planning on eating at the resort and park. We have parked at Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat and did not pay.
Definately report back on if your parents are able to use the pool area with you.

Will do. I am on vacation for 10 days starting in a couple of days. I am knocking out major planning during that time and will call then and report back.

So I called WDW today and here is what the cast member told me in re: to my question about parents (my guests) using the pool with us:

NO. An emphatic unapologetic. No.

Don't get me wrong, she was nice and not mean about it, but you know how normally when someone is about to give you bad news they try and sugar coat it and explain it? Yeah, that didn't happen. She just said No.

So there's that. My parents can't come and enjoy the pool with us. Which honestly, I get. I pay for the Deluxes for access to parks and for the pools and amenities. So I get why they don't let guests have guests come and visit the pool b/c then everyone would be coming in. So they can enjoy the resort, grab some lunch, and have a milk shake and we can visit the Boardwalk and that will be fun. :)

I didn't want to say anything before in case I was wrong, but I really doubted they'd allow you at Beach Club. You need wristbands to get to the pool since it's so popular. Just with the people staying at the two resorts alone, it gets pretty crowded, it would be unbearable if they allowed guests too.
You COULD bring them to the smaller quiet pool, though. Shh, I didn't say that. :cautious:

Hee hee I didn't hear anything. :) No, I play it straight at WDW. It means a lot to me that they are going to be there for the race. Since only my DH and I go to WDW, we are used to just being with each other. I am so glad my parents will be there but I don't know how to entertain people at Disney. My DH and I go into the parks every day and my mom is only going to Epcot with us on one day. My dad has vowed to never visit the mouse again. Not sure what happened there. He fell down and bumped his head or something. But none the less, he is boycotting going into the parks. So just looking for a way to all be together, not be in a park, and me not exert a lot of energy.
