Sorry if this has been posted elswhere, (couldn't find it on this site), but Laughing Place has the details from the media event regarding WDI updates on 7DMT and PFTH.

Some of the interesting points for 7DMT are:

  • Show elements from Snow White's Scary Adventures are being used (with new surprises) as well as completely new elements
  • Snow White and the Witch are a part of the ride. It'll have "the whole cast of characters"
  • The cottage seen in the concept art is a set piece for the ride and surrounding area, but it's not functional and cannot be entered.
  • The entire area has trees and walkways. Most of that is a part of the queue but some will be a general part of New Fantasyland including stroller parking
  • It's yet to be determined what the Prince Eric's Village area on backside will be (retail, food, etc.). But it will be a walk-in space with some purpose.
  • No Snow White retail component as of now

Looks like the "witch" will be in the ride, but from what we've heard, no the evil queen. I think there is so much they could have done with a new high-tech transformation of the queen into the hag. I don't think the prince or the huntsman will be in the ride . . . so how will the ride have the "whole cast of characters?" I'm all for having the witch, but the ride seems to lack story and for people who haven't see the movie, it's almost a generic Snow White and the dwarfs and a witch.

Trees and walkways . . . no surprise there, surprised they announce this as a feature!, but the nature aspect of Belle's area seems to be something people love.

Kinda surprised they don't know what Prince Eric's village will be . . . hope they go with a Seven Dwarfs/Snow White related food option such as candied apples made to look like poisoned apples . . not that anybody remembers, or thinks that the movie is important anymore:(

What's next? A Peter Pan roller coaster with a pirate boat scene and the Darlings' bedroom as an homage to a former ride?

Interesting indeed. Judging by the wait times for the Belle M&G it is obvious to me that demand is outpacing supply. Would love to see an immersive M&G featuring Snow White somewhere within the mountain with gift shop of course.

Would love to see Pan or Poppins added to the UK pavilion. Ultimately an E-Ticket version of PPF would be ideal IMO. Then the current PPF show building could get something fresh.

I'd rather keep PPF and have them add an E-Ticket Aladdin ride in Adventureland. Plus it woild help out crowd flow to get rid of the carpets.

Kinda like the original FLE plan?

I guess kind of, but the M&G planned were for Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella not Snow White. Anyway, I'm still hoping that they'll have a separate M&G for Snow White in the 7DMT area which was rumored at one point, but most insiders have said it is not part of the plans.

Also, I don't really believe that they don't know what the plans are for the building facing Little Mermaid. It's a pretty safe bet that it will be merchandise (I think I've seen the name "Triton's Treasures" mentioned).

Yes, I think long term, working in the immersive m&gs would be a good idea. JMHO. Lee might disagree. But he and others have probably been surprised to see the wait times for Belle.

I doubt anyone is surprised by the wait times. It's a low capacity attraction and M&G's are very popular. I think the interesting question is whether the wait times there will lessen once Fairytale Hall opens. I don't think it will be affected much, though.

I heard rumors that they want to make it a fresh fruit looking market with little mermaid merchandise on the side.

The model has two buildings (well, more like one building and one covered area). They could easily make the building merchandise and the covered area a fruit shop. Of course, that would perhaps mean not putting a DVC kiosk there which probably would be quickly shot down.

Poppins already does daily meet and greets in the UK pavilion (with Alice, and winne the pooh is in the store in the back) and at Prince Charming's carousel.

Also the covered stand that is across from Little Mermaid has its purpose, for a long time now, it is a fresh fruit stand. No DVC in that area to my knowledge, though i don’t know what, if anything, the building next to it will house.

I was hoping for a "Snow White Castle" in that place. Those little burgers are so good (at least when you are drunk they are:)). Now that they offer alcohol in BOG it makes sense. I know Harold and Kumar would approve;).

I really think once this ride is complete and the trees are placed it will really do a lot to make the NFL look amazing! I hope they cover the area in trees! And it seems like the construction walls are obviously much father out than the ride foot print so I don't see why they couldn't do a meet and greet next to the ride. How fun would it be if it were a concealed M&G and you never knew which dwarf you were going to meet? By keeping it a surprise and constantly changing the dwarf you see, you could create a fun surprise element that would create some buzz and excitement.

They probably know full well it will end up at least in part a DVC kiosk but don't want to bring any attention to that this far out.

I never understood the comparison to the Barnstormer. 7DMT will be about 3 minutes longer and have two show scenes and two lift hill. Barnstormer isn't even in the same league.

Agreed. But we often see people belittle the 7DMT by calling it a "kiddie coaster". Personally, I think it's ridiculous and something like "family coaster" is far more appropriate. "Kiddie coaster" seems derogatory by implying that it is geared towards young children and generally unappealing to adults -- but I think the 7DMT will actually be like a typical Disney ride that made the parks popular and famous by appealing to the whole family, being accessible to most everyone (low height restriction and mild enough thrills to be enjoyed by people who can't enjoy high thrill rides) and have good "show" with AAs and scenes from the movie.

I'm very excited by the ride and think it will be quite popular.
