I know this to be true because I happened to be waiting at the exit and saw several young adults trying to leave with various alcoholic beverages and were made to finish them (or toss) before leaving.

Well explained darlin!!I rarely drink especially out in public... I would rather not talk about what he did... He is divorced from my sister now.. and well you know.....
I once saw a drunk woman drop her 3 year old in Hollywood Studios... I think there is a time and a place for everything and I am not sure the 4 parks is the place.. I believe people need to use control when children are around..... Personal opinion.

I haven't personally but I've been with someone who did bring a beer into the MK and, really, it was no big deal. I'm not opposed to bringing alcohol in with me (clear liquor in a water bottle) although I never have. Just sayin' if I felt like mixing my own drinky-drink I would. Flame me. Judge me. I really don't care. I rarely ever drink so a "problem" couldn't be farther off the radar. It's not that I can't afford overpriced drinks because, again, waaaaay off the radar. I'm particular about what I drink. That's all. And no, I never get drunk or anything like that so IF I did it it'd be next to impossible for anyone to ever really know.
Exactly, just a bit silly if you ask me.

Never in, but I wish I could sneak the beverages out. At Food & Wine, when we're staying in the Epcot resort area, it would be nice if I could grab a drink or two and bring them back to the room, or at least the pool. But those CMs and their eagle eyes are always watching. Always watching...
Who wants to be my diversion this year? Nothing crazy, maybe just an impromptu juggling show, or something.

Yeah, the not allowing drinks out especially at the International Gateway is sorta odd. Like, okay, when we were staying at the Yacht Club and walked in for the hubby & my brother to get their baby aspirin and lemon slushies in France. ((The orange one tastes just like baby aspirin used to.)) We were walking back out and they wouldn't let them go. So both stood there power-sippin' those babies down which of course gives them killer brain freeze. I told hubby he shoulda rolled around on the ground gripping his head screechin' how he wants "...a hundred an' fifty thousand dollars.....but I'll settle out of court right now for $20...." but he just laughed at me. Missed opportunities! Geez!!! I'd have done it just for the laughs!

I have been with people who brought rum into MK...and yes, I did have some of it. Flame away if you'd like, but spiking your Dole Whip Float in MK is very popular and it does change the whole dynamic of the drink in a positive way. i.e. it wasn't about getting drunk...it was about enhancing the treat. It's been quite some time since doing it, but I have 0 regrets.
What I want to do on our next trip is have my wife buy a margarita at the board walk and walk to the IG And stand just outside the gate drinking it. Then I'd go over to France and get an orange slushie and walk to the IG on the inside of Epcot and drink it directly across from her. It would be like east and west Germany at the Berlin Wall

I have never brought drinks or been with anyone who has (not that I don't enjoy while I am there 
) , but...
I have a relative (not close) who told me how they used to bring drinks in to the parks and keep them in mugs, even keep the mugs in the stroller cup holders. I was appalled then and I am appalled now, but if you are looking for a way to do it I guess this is a good way. Although, very embarrassing if you get caught.

Once when passing thru bag check at the MK I saw a fully sealed, unopened bottle of vodka sitting next to an officer. I laughed about it and he said something along the lines of, "When it's that obvious.....we confiscate.... "

I saw my first "confiscation" last week at Epcot. The Gentleman in front of us going through the bag check at Epcot had two cans of beer in his back pack. The guard pulled them out, said "sorry, not allowed" and put them under his stand. I turned to Tracy (my hubby) and said "I wonder how many killer parties have been fueled off the free alcohol confiscated by the security guards". I wonder why he didn't at least try to cloak the beer in some other container. The big beer cans was just too obvious. I thought it was funny.
What most people don't know is that, unlike normal alcohol, Disney alcohol causes no inebriation. That's why they confiscate outside booze

I'm guessing the parks have a different liquor license than the resort areas and that is why you can't take alcohol in/out of EPCOT at IG. I can take alcohol to a hotel and drink it (even in the public areas), but I can't do that in a bar - in most states.

I thought that WDW had an umbrella liquor license...I could be badly mistaken though.
Florida liquor licensees are limited based upon population of the county....that's why I assumed that WDW operated under the same license.

Heck ya! I'm trying rum and Dole whip next trip. Sounds yummy.
If you want to attempt to take rum or whatever into one of the park then go ahead! All they can do is say "no" if they catch you. I really don't think trying to take a beer or mixed drink into Epcot means you should make a beeline to the UK pavillion, step in the phone booth, and ring Betty Ford. I don't blame people for trying to save a few bucks. I'm sure people do crazier things than that to save money at WDW.
