Have you ever snuck any adult beverages in or out of the parks?

Hopefully I can help answer a few question

Q: Why are guests not allowed to exit with an alcoholic beverage from the parks?

A: Guests are not allowed to leave any park with an alcoholic beverage because
1) It is assumed all guests will be leaving in their personal vehicles and it is illegal to have an open container in a car, the only exception's being a chauffered vehicle like a limo or bus but since there is no way to check every guest leaving guest who are transported by a third party are treated the same as other guests. (NO VIP treatment)
2) I have heard it also has something to do with Disney's liquor license. When in the park you are drinking in a zoned area so to move to another area say a resort area like the Boardwalk you are in a different zone so any alcohol being consumed from one to the other is not allowed.
3) If they were to let a person enter or exit through the International Gateway with an alcoholic beverage than other guest may complain that they were not able to do so, so its best to nip it all in the bud to begin with so there are no problems in the future.

Q: Are there designated smoking areas in and around the Boardwalk and surrounding areas?

A: Yes there are, unfortunatley they are not marked on a map or have a sign marking the spot for guests.
However if you look around you will see trash cans with ash trays placed in areas off to the side, away from the buildings, or hidden in little alcoves.

Here's a small list:
- When entering the Boardwalk from Seabreeze point (Epcot walkway) there is an ashtray where the pavement ends and the boarding begin's, this is usually used by guests at the ESPN Zone

- When entering the Boardwalk from the resorts stairwell entrance (also accesible from the inside stairwell leading down from the Bellvue Room) there are benches in a corner with ashtrays, patrons of the Bellvue Room and Flying Fish usually use this area

- While waiting for a Friendship boat to take you between resorts and parks there are ashtrays availble at the begining of the docks.

- There are ash trays outside both Atlantic Dance Hall and Jelly Rolls

- There is an ash tray near the water by Big River Grill

- There are areas around Stormalong Bay and Hurricane Hanna's with ashtrays and I believe they are marked

Once again these are not all "Marked" smoking areas but the Mouse does prefer that you use these areas if your going to smoke. You can ask a Cast Member where the areas are or may even be approached and ask to move to one of these spots.

Hope this helps!

I thought that WDW had an umbrella liquor license...I could be badly mistaken though.

Florida liquor licensees are limited based upon population of the county....that's why I assumed that WDW operated under the same license.

Quota licenses do not apply to most hotels or restaurants. They are intended to keep from having a liquor store on every corner - public safety issues.

Even if WDW had one umbrella license, I would guess they have different categories of licenses - packaged (sold in hotels) and on-site consumption (sold in bars). I know most states have a number of different types of liquor licenses.

Never "snuck in" more than one shot or never added more than one shot per drink? :D

LOL! Just one shooter thats all :)

Makes one wonder why the Mouse decided to have a kiosk serving the Dole Whips with Rum at the Flower & Garden Festival?

Or why the Poly hasn't offered them an "Adult" way?

They have, of course it's a three part process: go to the gift shop and buy some capt. Morgan, go to capt. Cooks and buy a dole whip, and then pour.

I used to sneak in flasks of gin andor whiskey or water bottles or coke bottles filled with the same back in college with my now DW because we couldnt afford to get a buzz in the world showcase or anywhere else in disney world. We also used to bring in food for breakfast and lunch. I prefer now to pay for my buzz in the park but dont knock the hustle. We cant all stay at the Poly either.

The drink never makes it that far...and if I'm headed to the booths in the UK."I'm crank calling...

I like your style, for I am the same way! Also like you if I am heading to the U.K. Pavilion red phone booths you can bet I am stoping for another drink at the pub and prank calling my friends bragging about where I am at that moment! BOOM!

Please don't attack me like I am a criminal...

I make myself a rum and coke or something and take it with me from the room to the park in my mug. Why? I do not want to pay $10 for a mixed drink..I am not a public drunk at disney by any means. They have alcohol about anywhere else, why can't I take my own?

The first time this happened, the CM told us, "no drinks allowed" which meant we either had to down the drink or throw it out, and no, we didn't feel like walking around WS again against traffic. Other times we've had a rum and coke in our mugs and have wanted to go into Epcot, again without downing our drinks, so we just take them with us.

We only had that happen once, when DH bought a beer at the stand near Canada after Illuminations, knew the line for the bus would be long so....

We were stopped at the exit, DH chugged some but not exactly what he had in mind for the beverage, never did that again.

Just wondering, not that I've done that by putting some rum in with my diet coke in one of the resort mugs, or perhaps by putting an unfinished frozen margarita from Epcot in a paper cup and finished on our walk back to the beach club or the monorail to the MK:rolleyes:

And no, I don't endorse getting drunk.

 Where do you think Disney came up with the idea of Epcot Captain Jack topped on a Dole Whip, it wasn't exactly an original creation.
