Breakfast in your room

To save money and time, we will be eating breakfast in our room for our entire upcoming stay, with the exception of one day where we will not be going to any parks. We will be there 10 days and I am really hitting a brick wall trying to come up with a variety of things to bring. There are only so many granola bars one can eat before you go a little squirrely. :D

For those of you that pack or ship or buy breakfast items to keep in your room, what are some of the things you bring?

We buy cereal before we go... purchase Milk at the gift shop. (Very reasonably priced). We get bread for toast.. if you are in a VR or MR you can use the toaster at the food court. The Suites have Toasters in the room. They sell a dozen doughnuts for 5.00 along with other inexpensive bakery items in all of the gift shops. WE bring lots of fruit. We bring Instant Oatmeal and Grits... a lot of nuts and Granola... hope this helps! :)

We bring a suitcase full of breakfast/ snack items and bring it home full of souvenirs. Homemade trail mix, cereal, pop tarts, fruit snacks, honey roasted nuts, beef jerky, instant oatmeal, whales/ goldfish, craisins, raisins, bagels, jello cups, etc.. It really isn't much different than what we eat at home. We have a QS and a TS each day so it just starts the day and fills the in between times.

We do cereal, oatmeal, pop-tarts, juice, fruit, muffins and the like. We drive so bring extra food is not an issue, and we can hit Publix for milk, fruit, and other items. We bring disposable bowls, plastic spoons, a roll of paper towels, and paper plates. I tend to eat cereal most mornings so its just like being at home, except its not, its better. The nice thing about having a refrigerator in the room, is that you can keep the milk, juice and other drinks cold. We eat in the room to save time and some money

We are definately considering garden grocer this upcoming trip. I believe, the minimum order is $40, but it seems so much easier than packing food stuff for the trip down

I think after I get a good list of things to bring, I'll compare prices on Garden Grocer vs. the cost of buying it at Walmart at home & then shipping it. I have a sneaky feeling that once I add in the cost to ship it to the resort it will come out pretty close and I may go with the Garden Grocer option as well.

I decided to try Garden Grocer this year, our first time in a Villa, and just frees up luggage space, if that makes sense. Between water and soda alone, I figure I'm ahead

Last trip we just bought a loaf or two of bread and grabbed some butter from the food court. It was enough to hold us over until we got to a park. We then would snack or get breakfast/lunch (depending on the time of day) in the parks.

To help with the "but we're on vacation and don't want to eat the same things...", I used to let them pick a cereal that we wouldn't normally buy (we bought Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Raisin Bran) to take on vacation. If it was late fall or winter, then they picked one box of oatmeal (DS) or grits (DD).

We do the same thing! Not only is it a $$$ saver, but in my opinion saves time too.... In addition to granola bars, we usually bring pop tarts, bagels and the mini boxes of cereal (just grab milk, bowls and spoons in the food court). All have worked well or us. In the next week or so, i'm going to start grabbing our breakfast items and snacks for our upcoming trip!

Same here, pop tarts, bagels, muffins etc. Something grab and go for breakfast always. I start about a month out getting a little bit at a time. Another thing we always bring to the parks are those small packs of fruit gummies. They hold up well in the heat and they are kind of thirst quenching in a way. My children aren't small anymore but I still buy them to take with us. Whatever the case it will be nice for you to have it waiting when you get there.:)

The variety packs of cereal so that we're not eating the same cereal all of the time. We also buy some of the prepackaged donuts. We also buy a big bag of oranges once we get to the airport.
