I need your help....Every year we go to Epcot and my husband leaves not won over :( it makes me sad because it is such a wonderful park.
Granted it is August when we visit and we are pushing a double stroller... But we always enjoy food and drink in Mexico, France and England. He is a vegetarian and there are a lot of wonderful options.
We have experienced most of the attractions (Soarin, the land, test track, space ship earth, mission space)
What am I missing? What would you do?

Maybe a time machine to go back to when the park actually was fantastic?

Have you tried getting him really, really drunk?

Honestly, if he doesn't love it now, he probably will continue to do just that. If he's an "attractions" guy, the park just doesn't offer a ton of those anymore, or at least worth the August heat. If he doesn't really love eating/drinking/shopping around the world, I can't think of something that might help him there that you've probably not already tried.

Well for starters avoid Aug. at all costs! #1) To Hot #2) Hurricane Season #3) Super Crowded

I am a Pescatarian (I eat fish) so we eat almost the same (I don't always eat fish)
So how about on your next trip go to some other places and try some new food like:

Future World
Sunshine Seasons - Garlic Udon Noodles w/ Broccoli, Oak Grilled Vegetable Flatbread Sandwich, Roasted Beet w/ Goat cheese salad, Tabouli Salad, Tofu & Vegetable Noodle bowl

World Showcase
Boulangerie Patisserie - aladiere and the Fromage Plate (Cheese, olives, tomatos etc.), Soupe de Potiron (Pumpkin Soup)
Fife and Drum - Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese Stuffed Pretzels (Sooo Good)
Katsura Grill - Japanese Curry Udon Noodles, Okonomi Yaki (Fried Vegetable Pancake), Vegetable Sushi Rolls
Liberty Inn - Black Bean Veggie Burger
Tangierine Cafe - Falafel Wraps, Vegetable Platters and all of the side salads (Super Good)
Tutto Gusto - Cavatappi Pomodoro & the Rughetta e Patate, Panini's each have discriptions on the menu
Via Napoli - So many options I don't know where to begin.

As you can see there are many Vegetarian options all over the park and if you would prefer a sit down meal remember all TS restaurants offer Veg. options and if you inform them of you dietary needs when making your reservation the Chef may even be able to make something that is not on the menu.

With all the great booze, eats, shows and shopping what more could you need?

May I please be painfully candid? If you go “every year”, and he has yet to be won over by the park’s attractions and charm, then this ship has sailed. We all enter marriage with an acknowledgment that we are not marrying clones of ourselves. My advice would be that you go to the park with your family and enjoy it to the hilt. I’m certain that you do things that you do not enjoy very much for your husband’s sake. If the two of you are a give-and-take couple, then I’m sure that things will even out at a ball game or The Home Depot.
rsoxguy,
As logical as your post may be, you are failing to think like a true WDW fan. You see, it is perfectly fine for people to have different opinions on certain things...food, sports, music, beliefs, etc etc. That is what makes us human; what makes us unique. I also totally agree with marriage being a team effort of give & take. But when it comes to Disney, you either love it, or there is something wrong with you. The OP's husband clearly is doing something wrong causing him to dislike what he is required to like. After all, I enjoy Epcot, the OP enjoys Epcot, you probably enjoy Epcot, so in theory the OP's husband is supposed to enjoy Epcot. Checkmate!
Something has got to be done to change the husband's way of thinking, hence the reason this thread was started in the first place. What if he eventually snaps one day & starts suggesting they vacation to destinations outside of Disney property altogether? Then what? It is better to resolve a problem when it is small, and before things get totally outta hand.

To the OP: You are with friends here, and are in our thoughts & prayers. Hopefully you can get through this and solve the problem with great haste.

And for the record...If you find the right old school bowling alley they can have some of the best "not good for you greeeeaaazzzy" cuisine.

Get a babysitter and drink around the world. :) We love Epcot - my DH, its his favorite park! He loves trying new foods and drinks at the countries and just being silly - trying on hats and going through the shops. Epcot is for your senses - visual, taste, sound. Its not a thrill park. So its just a different experience. Also with Epcot, I have found people either love it or hate it. And there isn't much to change a persons mind.

Park hop and Hit Epcot in the evenings. Or put the kids (if you have them) in the Sandcastle Club at the Beach Club one night. Then hit EPCOT by yourselves in the evening for a "date night" You may also try going a time of year other than summer. We go during the cooler months and my hubby loves it.
