So did they save a couple bottles of water from the drained out Splash Mountain refurb to be put back when the ride reopens just to say they did??? ;)

Considering how precious water is in central Florida I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't save ALL of the water to put back into the ride once the refurb is finished.

I never thought of that. That is a lot of water Disney is big on the saving the earth stuff but where would the put it.

Bottle it up and put it in a museum. Just a thought...

Seriously though, I'd put my money on them pumping it into the 7 Seas Lagoon or something like that.

Um, that "free" cup of water available for the asking at every quick service restaurant in the parks that everyone here is always advising others to order? Yeah, enjoy.

Sadly, I would totally shell out 10 bucks for a souvenir bottle of Splash water.
Because I love collecting weird Splash Mountain merchandise.
And I am that pathetic.

Of course, the problem is that you have no way of verifying that the water you bought is even from Splash to begin with.

For all you know it could be "L'eau de Toilette de Valeur Villégiature".

EDIT -- Which would involve a different kind of mountain splash altogether.

Sometimes even chunks. And squirts.

That's fine...so long as it doesn't easily open, and has a cool Splash Mountain graphic on it...I am totally there...I would just have to figure out how to get it through airport security.

I seem to have this thing about little bottles of water. I have some from every trip to every ocean I have ever taken. It's a sickness....

I don't think Disney would ever sell water from Splash Mountain. Generally speaking, it's considered more politically incorrect than water from Cinderella Castle's moat, or Pirates of the Caribbean and while it's less offense than water from the flume rides for Gone with the Wind or Birth of a Nation, a major concern is that this water may be more directly marketed to children, who would not appreciate the context with which it was created.

I know there is a reservoir backstage that holds right at 1 million gallons, but know how long the refurb is and under the Florida sun, they probably fully drained the whole thing. And the rides at IoA pump water from the lagoon, so Disney probably does the same from the canal back stage or from Rivers of America. Does anyone know how they filter it though?
