Any water saved from drained Splash Mountain

Oi! Don't look funny at us, look funny at Disney!

There is a precedent. In the MK itself. Disney did save some water from 20k, and poured it into TLM. Well, they had some bloggers pour it. (Why invite the social media to an event, when you can make them be the event)

The OP knows his Disney:

I do wonder if that whole thing was "staged" as just another jingle keys effect. You can scoop up water from a toilet and say it was from the 20K lagoon. Or should we contact the disney archives in the preservation of water..

Fun Fact: During my trip in 2010 I started a Disney Attraction Water Collection. I have a bottle of Splash Mountain, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean water. I know, I know "por favor, mantenga las manos, brazos, pies y piernas dentro del vehiculo" but I couldn't help it ;) . And I love my little collection

Has it grown anything yet?

If they DID save water from Splash, my concern would be that the ride never re-opens, not where they are going to sell it. Although I am not seriously saying that is a possibility.

I'm sure it was. I mean, when they drained and bulldozed 20k, they obviously had no idea at the time that they were going to be putting a Little Mermaid ride in there nearly 10 years later. Heck, they even bulldozed the old show building.

There is a huge holding tank behind the scenes where ALL the Splash Mtn. water can be held if they so desire. That's where the actual ride building is.

I didn't realize that section of the ride is where they "parked" all the log ride vehicles. Is that really the best/only place to store them? Out in the open, exposed to the elements?

I'd presume the logs are parked all over the attraction when they shut it down since there isn't one place in the attraction where they can park all of the logs at one time. So they park them a) where they have room, and b) wherever they can be out of the way from whatever work needs to be done on the track.

Isn't there a "rapid flush" option too; where all of the water can be evacuated from the attraction in the event of an emergency? I was under the impression that this feature was a requirement of such attractions...

If the pumps are turned off all at once, the mountain will naturally drain of all water within a couple minutes due to gravity.

(According to our Keys to the Kingdom guide, the pumps cut off automatically when the emergency exit door that exits onto the walkway next to the backstage pond is opened)

Its not for parking the logs. All the water in the flume eventually flows its way back down to this reservoir to be pumped back up to create a current. All the water in the flume can be quickly drained to this reservoir as well. Most water rides have one - Kali River Rapids has a bigger one.

Fun fact: Grizzly River Run at DCA's reservoir is actually the pacific wharf lagoon, on stage.

No, I meant the location where the logs can can actually be seen "parked" in that Bing photo. I'm just surprised that they're in the outdoor leg of the ride. I assumed they would have had an indoor area for keeping them during maintenance. I wouldn't expect to see the Test Track cars parked along the outdoor portion (speed test) of the ride during refurbs.

There is a small maintenance bay inside of the attraction as well as a storage area that can hold 9-10 logs. During the refurbishment the remove all of them so they can be power washed, inspected and maintenance can be performed. On any regular day they park them in the ride path, but be be since they need access to the flume during the refurb, the only place with enough room to store them is outside.
