With the Yankees out, I'll root for. ST Louis now. A back to back repeat would be extraordinary, but it would be even greater if the Cards do it because nobody gave then a shot last year or this year

"Yankees' 3rd baseman, Alex Rodriguez, has attempted to commit suicide several times after tonight's loss to the Detroit Tigers. According to sources, Rodriguez is armed with a bat, and claims to knock himself silly. After many attempts, he has not made any contact, and authorities seem certain he will be fine."

(Friend's Facebook status update as of 10-min ago. I didn't get the joke at first, but...:rolleyes: )

Three teams with long, storied histories! I will have to stay in the Senior Circuit, but wouldn’t mind if Detroit won it all either. I would have to pick St Louie in 6.

Now the SF Giants are in do-or-die mode after losing again to the Cardinals. I was hoping to see a better performance from Tim Lincecum, as he has been improving since his earlier struggles this season. Sadly, that was not the case tonight as "The Freak" was quickly owned by the Cardinal's lineup.

It's looking like we're going to have a repeat of the 2006 World Series matchup unless the Giants form some kind of miracle. (Am I the only one who thinks this might be a buzzkill of a World Series, especially after all the new names we've had in the playoffs this year: Reds, Nationals, Orioles, A's...?)
Oh well, come what may.

Nationals-Orioles would have been my ideal WS. But I'll settle for Cards-Tigers, if S.F. doesn't come back. If they could somehow win tonight in StL, the series would basically be a toss-up again, with the Giants pitching their best 2 starters at home in games 6 and 7.

So here we sit with the St. Louis Cardinals on the verge of heading back to the World Series for the 2nd year in a row, possibly repeating the title twice. We also have the SF Giants on the verge of tying up the NLCS back in San Fran, after an impressive win last night in the Cardinals' backyard. And finally, we have the Detroit Tigers going to the World Series & bringing with them a triple crown winner! So with all this excitement going on between all three teams...the media is buzzing with talk about....you guessed it...the New York Yankees. o_O

That's right folks, the Yankees still getting much more media spotlight than the actual teams still competing this season. How do they do this every year? The big debate now is what to do with A-Rod. Many are speculating he will remain in New York after this season, yet many other think he will be wearing a new uniform. I'm guessing he'll be given one more try as a Yankee. Granted, Curtis Granderson had a worse performance this postseason than A-Rod, and nobody ridicules him. A-Rod is a much bigger name, and thus, takes more of the blame.

The Giants and Cards both have impressive playoff elimination game winning streaks going. If SF wins again tomorrow, game 7 will be an elimination game for both and one of those streaks will finally come to an end.

Sorry for that bit of irrelevancy...now back to the Yankee news: A-Rod has not been traded yet.

A-rod did say he wanted to come back next year and he has a no-trade clause so it looks like he is here to stay in NY

Tonight's game is scheduled for 10:30 local time in SF? I wonder how their fans feel about that. But it's sure nice for us East Coast TV viewers.
