What was your favorite part of the season?
I LOVED how the LDS's played out this postseason. All of them going the full five games, and some extraordinary comebacks. The incredible turnaround by the SF Giants after nearly being swept by the Reds, the shocking upset in Washington by the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Oakland A's forcing a Game 5 after almost being swept by Detroit. Excellent LDS's all around.

I also love how they've added the one game wild card playoff. Great drama with a one game do-or-die scenario.

Another favorite moment was watching the SF Giants wrap up NLCS Game 7 in that downpour of a storm. Quite the "Singing in the Rain" celebration to be had.

And finally...Game 1 of the World Series with Pablo Sandoval's historic 3 home run night.

While this was an excellent postseason & World Series played by the SF Giants, I do wish Detroit had won 2 games. If they had, and the series went to Game 6, then this would have been the first World Series ever where I predicted the outcome with accuracy.

Just a shot in the dark, but I'm going to pick the San Francisco Giants over the Detroit Tigers in 6.

Pitching wins championships. Despite having a far from stellar 2012 season, the SF Giants have a very dangerous pitching rotation which seems to be warming up at the right moment. It doesn't matter how much they stink in the summer, but how good they are when autumn arrives.
@afarese almost nailed it too! Posted on September 28th:
but the Tigers and Giants are dark horses IMO
Now, as @Nemo14 says...wait 'til next year.

Thanks for the great party!!!!!

Good Night
Were you there in the downtown celebrations? It showed a lot of the partying going on in San Fran last night...especially the big screen showing of the game in front of the civic center (?) Looked like a fun, crazy environment. Congrats to you & your Giants!

How many people out there called in "sick" to work today? ;)

I was going too, but Hurricane Sandy put my town in a state of emergency so no work/school for me today!

No, not at the downtown celebration. I live an hour north and actually hate going into the city. Can
catch a ferryboat directly to the ballpark when needed, but don't make more than one or two games a year.
I'm old school, still love listening to games on the radio.

The Braves have picked up McCann’s option for ’13. He will be out at least the first month of the season rehabbing his shoulder. The Braves are not sure if they will re-sign him after the ’13 season……don’t get why they picked up his option……

MLB & the Players Association are contributing $1 million to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Feeding America for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Separately the Yankees are contributing $500k to the American Red Cross.

Meanwhile the NHL is still in a greedy standoff with its players association.

More good news for the World Champion SF Giants, as catcher Buster Posey wins NL MVP for the 2012 season! First catcher to win this honor since the 70's.(?)
