Belle and Her Mother Portrait

No idea if this was shared before, but I found this little gem on tumblr. It's a beautifully detailed portrait of Belle and her mother. It looks like it's the same style as some of the other portraits I've seen that will be featured in New Fantasyland, so I thought I'd share. I apologize in advance if this has already been floating around for a while, I didn't see it on here... but I thought it was kinda cool to see what her mom looked like.

The picture actually reminds me of Belle and her little sister (who, to me, looked more like the Belle we know) from the initial version of film.

Yep, and a cat. Maurice was a bourgeoisie merchant. His sister forced her way in when his fortunes went south and she tried to set Belle up with the local aristocrat, a dandy named Gaston.

A little off topic, now that I'm thinking about it, the Beasts Library would be a nice addition to the expansion, since there is a heavy Beauty and the Beast presence.

I know, right?! It's in the Animation Building in the Hollywood Land section of the park. I think it'd be a nice fit for the Fantasyland expansion.

It's in the Sorcerer's Workshop area within the animation building at DCA.

Nope, the portrait stays the same. The condition of the library is before the prince turns into the Beast, so the drapes aren't torn and it doesn't look old. You sit in one of those chairs and you take a quiz to find out which Disney character you truly are. Kinda like when the the enchantress found out the true character of the prince.

So I quickly flipped through Tale as Old as Time: The Art and Making of Beauty and the Beast and it only has me more intrigued about this image. The dress that Belle's mother is wearing is very similar to the dress intended for Belle in that same original version that I referenced earlier. Check out pages 33 and 60 if you have a copy.
