Nope, the portrait stays the same. The condition of the library is before the prince turns into the Beast, so the drapes aren't torn and it doesn't look old. You sit in one of those chairs and you take a quiz to find out which Disney character you truly are. Kinda like when the the enchantress found out the true character of the prince.

Did they stop the transformation? The library and portrait used to change from the pristine state shown in your image to a completely Beast-ravaged state and back again. Here's a video (not mine) from 2009:

I myself have never seen the portrait change. I guess it does change! I've never witnessed it with my own eyes, though.

I posted about this in the "VIDEO - Take a tour inside Maurice's Cottage in the new Fantasyland" thread. The painting hangs in Maurice's cottage and you can actually see it in the video at around 1:46 reflected in the wash table mirror.

I would absolutely adore it if they attached the Library to the Be Our Guest restaurant! It would be so cool to wait in the Library for your reservation to be called. It would make it feel like you were at a fancy mansion party!

Then again, I know they won't do this, but it would be fabulous wouldn't it?

The Belle Greet / Storytime whatever is will be taking place inside the library in the Enchanted Tales with Belle Attraction.

Where will the Enchanted Tales with Belle be located? Is it attached to the castle somehow? I always felt that we should see more of the inside of Beasts castle besides the ball room.

You will enter Enchanted Tales with Belle through Maurice's cottage which is just south of the castle mountain. The showbuilding for Enchanted Tales is within part of the rock work by the castle. The ball room is just one of three dining rooms in the castle.

A little off topic, now that I'm thinking about it, the Beasts Library would be a nice addition to the expansion, since there is a heavy Beauty and the Beast presence.

The Library and the West Wing are two completely parts of Beast's Castle, and are both huge turning points in the story of BatB.. They're not merging them together. The library is where Enchanted Tales with Belle is going to be, on the other side of the mirror, and the West Wing is a dining room in BoG.

In the DCA photo above they merged them together, The portrait of the Prince isn't in the Library it's in the West Wing
