Is Barnstormer fun anymore?

Barnstormer used to be a favorite of just about everyone I've ever ridden it with. Is it still that way? Has it lost of gained any appeal in its new form?

I don't know anybody that would even classify it as a "must do"

It's one of those rides we do just because we're in the area...not because we seek it out.

It's all a matter of opinion.

The Barnstormer is a great "first roller coaster" for little children, children who are too small for Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I can't imagine anyone but children would actually find the Barnstormer "fun"....its a decent kids coaster that is the same now as before, only minus some of the theming. If you enjoyed it before, you'll enjoy it now.

Everyone I've ever ridden with loves it. Never ridden with a kid.

The ride for what it is is fun. Very flimsy feeling compared to larger steel coasters due to its design and construction. The barn was never a huge plus for me as it is/was a steel jungle that sticks out like a sore thumb.

It's a cute lil ride still. The difference now is that they took pretty much took all the theming away. Its a bare bones coaster now. Which I think is a shame.

Less theming? I was under the impression there was now *more* theming- what with the barn replaced by both an aerial tower and a billboard, plus all the additions to the queue. However, I haven't seen it for myself, and I hadn't planned on riding it- it's too small for me.
Can anyone who has actually ridden it since the change tell us?

In my opinion the ride queue is pretty well themed and the coaster now goes through a billboard instead of the barn. The old ride was pretty well themed. The new version is about the same. The queue is actually probably cooler than the ride itself which is very fast. They took a pretty average little kids coaster and themed it well enough to attract some adults too. My 2 year old loved this ride. He was 39 inches in June when we were there so just under the limit for splash and big thunder. This was his coaster for MK. I could see adults without young kids skipping this especially if there is a long line.

I liked that part better than what we have today though. IMO the goofini has sub par theming for WDI. The Barnstormer was actually incredibly well themed. I think I just miss the chickens the most. Lol
"Incredible well themed"? I wouldn't go that far. Better themed than Great Goofini, sure.

Theme quality appears to be a matter of opinion. I see little difference, except the current theme is new, therefore in better shape. There is some story to it to fit in with the circus theme. The coaster is the same. The only difference I consider significant is that the load/unload is now reversed. You load into the planes on the North side, and exit on the south side. There is also a good picture taking area in the exit route.

Seems like they could have kept the barn and re-themed around that, I think the barn was better as well. But for what its intentions are its a decent, fun little ride.. my 2 and 1/2 year old daughter was just FINALLY barely tall enough to ride it last weekend and she LOVED it, so if SHE likes it then Daddy likes it.;)

It was my daughter's favorite ride when she was 4 and 5 years old.

We'll try the re-furbed version next week for the first time, although my kids are older now. Hopefully more of the queue is shaded than before, like with the re-furbed Dumbo.

The handling of the ride was just cheap on Disney's part. No reason they couldn't have moved the barn over there with it. Now it's just a poorly themed kiddie coaster. If nothing else, re-design the theme of the coaster.

I know I'm jumping the gun with barely an of the new FL open, but from what we saw last month, we weren't impressed. The Dumbo play area is a smaller version of a McDonalds Playplace. As mentioned, there is no theming to the Great Goofini.
