Balcony at Beach Club?

What are the odds of getting a room with a balcony/patio at Beach Club?

We usually have a few nights where we're back to the room early and after getting the kids in bed... we enjoy having a few drinks on the balcony/patio before turning in. In light of this, the balcony or patio is important. We're currently in a standard view room, but he gave me the green light to upgrade to garden view (although I wonder if the view upgrade is worth it).

Altertnately, if you were us...would you just switch to Yacht Club since it seems all rooms have balconies there? I was torn between the two when I made the change anyway...I prefer the rooms at BC, but love the lobby area at YC.

Not sure of the "odds", but at booking, you can request a balcony room, and remember to request one at check-in.

True- and I've had good luck with my room reqeusts in the past... I just worry about it since there are no guarantees and a number of the rooms have either no balcony or a faux balcony.

Hi there, I would agree with you and switch over to the Yacht club as they have many more full balconies compared to the Beach Club. Both resorts are really lovely and you really cant go wrong but if sitting outside is important to you, I'd do the switch. Have a terrific time!! Marie

You can request one. They will do their best to accommodate your requests. We had but we had Club Level. It over looked the pool.

Thanks Marie! I think we're going to make the switch.

Reminds me that I need to call Virgin and get a 'full balcony' request on my booking. It would be nice to be able to sit on the balcony with my wife while my son is fast asleep on one of the beds.

It really is nice to be able to step out to the balcony while they fall asleep. I think it helps the kids fall asleep more easily and the kicking your feet up at the end gives you more of a vacay relaxation feel.

And that's just it- if I were staying Club Level I'd have much higher expectations with them meeting my requests, but with a standard or garden view room- it just doesn't feel like the odds are in my favor.

I totally understand. We also ask for a non ground floor room with a balcony, and I am trying to think if we have ever not ended up with a balcony. I think we have always gotten one - club level or not.

I just decided to switch to Yacht Club, bump up to garden view (which only added about $68), and made sure the balcony request was on there. :)
