Yeh,dipping sauces no problem,it's getting the onion slices to open up before deep frying that's bothering me.Excellent!!!! Don't forget the dipping sauce too!!!!! I'm sure it will be a hit!!

Excellent tip,cheers for that,no way Gordon Ramsay is getting that bit of advice.after you slice the onion, stick it in ice water for about 5 mins first, then just push it apart with your fingers and open it up, dry it well, and stick in batter![]()

Holy Shellfish!deep fried oysters & scallops? I once had deep fried calamaris in a posh restaurant in downtown Los Angeles and they were awesome,but scallops,there classed as the Rolls Royce of shellfish,no way would I deep fry these babies.Seared in a griddle pan for two minutes each side and a squirt of fresh lemon juice to serve,oh and I remove the roe.

My mom actually got me a little device to cut the onion just right to make blooming onions at home. Still haen't tried it yet simply out of fear for all those calories!!! Yikes!!
