Is Fantasmic Package worth it?

Is Fantasmic Package worth it?

I don't know, we were thinking about it and I have it scheduled but is it worth it?
1. We are going to October
2. We have free dining (got a pin in the mail)
3. Last time people were jumping over the ropes into the reserved section anyway, so not really fair to the people that paid, really ticked me off.
4. Is Mama Melrose worth it?
What do you think?

Mama Melrose is ok. Nothing special. Personally, we haven't had problems getting good seats without the package. If you want to eat at SciFi or PrimeTime I see no real need to do the package.

Mama Melrose has the best food of any table service place at DHS, IMHO. Granted, that isn't saying much, but if I eat a TS meal there, that'd be my choice. I've never had a problem getting good F! seats, though, when travelling in a non-holiday period.

MM is a great use of a TS credit on the regular DDP, even if you toss the Fantasmic passes into the trash. Unless they've changed this recently, you still get an appetizer, entree and dessert with the Fantasmic package.

This is a good question. Since my DH and I are not big fans of the TS at DHS, we always are on the fence of doing the Package. But this trip, we are doing. Its been like 5 years since we have seen Fantasmic. So we are looking forward to seeing it again. We are doing Brown Derby as it is one of my DH's faves. He asks for so little when we go to WDW, that when he asks to do things - like see Fantasmic and go to BD - I really want to accommodate.

We really like MM, but not fond of Fantasmic!

We've seen it and didn't have a problem getting a seat because we got there early enough.

Believe it or not, we have never seen Fantasmic!

I am determined to make this the year in which we finally see it. However, F! is scheduled awfully early during most days of our trip. 6:30. Is it even dark by then?

If we do the dinner package, I figure we'd have to eat an early dinner in order to make it to the show on time. 5:00 at the latest.

On the other hand, we have young kids. Waiting in line for an hour or so just isn't an option. If we don't do the package, I doubt we'll wait in line for the show.

YOU HAVE TO GO SEE IT~

FYI I scheduled MM Fantasmic package 180 days out and they only had lunch. The guy did tell me Hollywood and Vine and Brown Derby had dinner.

On the other hand, we have young kids. Waiting in line for an hour or so just isn't an option. If we don't do the package, I doubt we'll wait in line for the show.

This brings up a whole other question..... WHY does everyone have to wait an hour? The first time we went we showed up 15 minutes before and of course we had to sit in the back, but it was great. The second time we had the Fantasmic package and was told to show up an hour before, NOT!!!!! We showed up a half hour before and was sitting in the middle.

Of course we went in October, so probably not as crowded but still. Disney should have built that theater so there were more entrances. I'm not sure how many are there? You think there would be a better way. THe first people in think they are going to take up a whole row, but eventually everyone gets smashed together anyway. What is your opinon?

When Fantasmic first started you needed to be there at least 45mns before to get any kind of seat. We started doing the meal in order to not worry about seating, even tho we do not like any TS at DHS. We have since found that unless you are there at peak time you don't need the meal. Arrive at least 30mns before to get seat, 60 if you want a seat in the middle during off peak times.

FYI we also found that whenever we did the meal we always had to eat early, seemed like they only offered the plan if you ate before 5pm

I thought about doing the package, but something has always kept us from doing that. We go on nights that F! has a second show, and have always gotten a seat, showing up 5-20 minutes before the show starts. Right before Christmas we were way over on the left side, but still had seats, and didn't stand in line, just walked up and saw the show. We see the show every trip, it always seems the best way to end the day.
