Curious if anyone feels the way I do, I'll give my opinion later :zipit:

Original. The new one just looks so bland. Not that the original was oozing any sort of theme, it was still better than what now appears to be just a couple of billboards or whatever.

(before anyone flames me for just hating it for the reason of being new, i love the new Dumbo)

Ditto. New Dumbo and the train station look absolutely beautiful.

But I think the old Barnstormer was better. It had more character and was more colorful. It wasn't Disney's best work, but it was something I could've imagined in a Universal park. Whereas the new Barnstormer reminds me of Six Flags in terms of blandness.

Great Goofini. Yes, the Toontown Barnstormer had more "theme" and sure, there were more props. But the cartoon-y feel of it (which I'm not completely opposed to) just wasn't great. The new version has fantastic props and details and it truly fits the theme of Storybook Circus. Plus, it all seems much more open, which is great IMO!

I guess as far as the theme goes the new look fits in better, but it's a little odd that they removed the "barn" from a ride called "Barnstormer"

Seeing the finished product, I think this is one of those instances where they could have used the money to plus what was there instead of basically starting over.

The fewer leftovers from toontown the better. Therefore the new version is the easy choice.

Oh, and that includes the train's water tower. There is a much more inspiring version over in Fort Wilderness that provides at better template. IMO.

Much prefer the old toontown version theme wise. This one just feels like it's missing something to me.

Maybe it looks different in person? I haven't been yet so I can't really say.

There's only one thing that's bugging me.......What's the backstory of That Monkey that's in every shot with Goofy??

I'm not crazy about either Barnstormer, really. I don't think exposed track coasters have a place in Disney parks. Barnstormer, Goofy's Sky School, Primeval Whirl, Flounder's FLying Fish...there's nothing special about these, really.

Casey Jr. at DL and DLP, and the upcoming Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster are better examples, in my opinion, of how Disney should be treating "thrills" for their smallest guests.

I'm totally digging the monkey, though.

The barn has NOTHING to do with barnstorming.

barn·storm
(bärnstôrm)
1. To travel around the countryside making political speeches, giving lectures, or presenting theatrical performances.
2. To appear at county fairs and carnivals in exhibitions of stunt flying and parachute jumping.
3. To travel around an area appearing in exhibition sports events, especially baseball games.

I prefer the original version. Too bad they didnt keep the building the coaster went through and just did some kind of re-theme to it instead of what they did. The current version is so bland.

Well, it has something to do with it. The "barn" in "barnstorming" is indeed a farmer's barn, used as a signifier of a rural setting, although the idea of a plane flying through a barn is just a kind of visual pun in cartoons.

Take your pick.

The new Great Goofini Barnstormer is bland and bare.

At least in the queue for the Toontown Fair Barnstormer, you could go inside a part of the barn and look at all the little nicknacks, plane schematics, and props. On the ToonTown Barnstormer ride, the attraction had many more plants and trees so you couldn't see all of the track at once. And who could forget crashing through the barn! It even had all of the World of Motion chickens, who would go crazy when an airplane flew through. Now the Barnstormer flies through a billboard.

The Toontown Fair Barnstormer was so much more lively and fun.

The new posters with the monkey are fun, but the original Barnstormer, with its props and animatronic chickens, seemed a bit nicer to me.

I understand the reason to keep the Goofy airplane theme, but I think it would have been a nice change as a Casey Jr. coaster or Pink Elephants on Parade coaster (yeah, probably too scary for little kids), or maybe a Timothy Wild Mouse ride.

If the Forest theme had taken over Toontown too, and they had to keep Goofy, I would have loved a "Goofy Movie" themed Goofy and Max coaster, with an encounter with Bigfoot.

I'm just glad it isn't a Clown coaster like they were originally planning.
