Have yet to dine at Napoli, but I can't recommend Portabellos.

I got a $40 filet, that came over cooked twice.

also, ate mushroom ravioli that had cream sauce that came to the table seperated.

First and only time I complained about a meal at disney.

Gave me two free apps.

Its been a really long time since we have been to Portavellos (no longer on the dining plan) but we used to love it. This is where our kids learned to eat....shhh SQUID.... We ate at Via Napoli and enjoyed that. Its a real toss up. I would say it would depend on where your day takes you. If you also what to do some shopping head downtown and eat at Porabellos..if not try Via Napoli

Can't decide which one to adr...have not been to either. HELP!...oh I like lots of food not skimpy

Via Napoli! I have heard amazing things and will be trying it for the first time this May with my mom. I'm so excited! I have never tried Portabello's b/c I have heard mixed reviews on it.

Via Napoli wasn't yet open when we were last down there, but we did have dinner at Portabello's. We thought it was just OK, nothing special. From what I've read about Via Napoli it sounds better (certainly much better themed and located).

GOOD FOR THOSE KIDS! Seriously - I'm Sicilian... dad used to fry up baby squid all the time :). I LOVED it. Now THAT'S Italian :).

The very first time they ate it we told them it was onion rings...and they have not looked back!! We get it at almost every meal while in Disney. But they only do the rings!!!!!

What does "Non-signature" mean? As you can see, I am new here. Starting to plan our dining agenda for the upcoming trip. Sounds like Via Napoli is a must try since we have not yet experienced it!

Signature meals (California Grill, Citricos, Narcoosse's, Flying Fish, Jiko, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Brown Derby, Artist Point...I'm sure I'm forgetting a few) are more expensive than other table service meals, and take 2 credits on the dining plan. So a non-signature table service meal would take 1 credit on the dining plan and be less expensive than a signature meal.

As for your original question, I've never been to either restaurant...I'd go more by where you plan on being that day and make the decision that way, if you really cannot decide.
