Splash Mountain Open?

11 minutes after the park opens on the date it is scheduled to reopen?

I have never known Disney to miss a simple refurbishment reopening date. They may extend refurbishments, but that would have been announced, so yes, Splash is open today.

I guess if nobody else confirms, I'll report in on Wednesday. We're in the World this week, but didn't make it to MK today. We'll be there most of Wednesday and Splash is tops on our list.

I'm sure it opened today. On Monday, they were telling people it was opening the next day, even in the form of live announcements on the train and the CMs stationed at the "splash mountain is closed" signs.

When we passed by Monday, the flume was dry and all the logs were sitting in the flume. It appeared ready to fill and run.

Hope you can snap a few pictures. Id love to see some close ups :)

I will indeed, but I won't be able to post until Wednesday night (so I imagine someone will beat me to it). My Droid (Verizon Droid 2) auto-focus doesn't work (no idea why - I've tried everything), so I can't take any pics with it. We'll break out the little Nikon handi-cam (or whatever it's called) and I'll post Wed night, unless someone else does first.

I went on it four times yesterday. I was so excited that I was the first one on it too!!!!! Anyway, throughout the queue they now have a new safety spiel that warns you about the ride. Throughout the ride they have given a fresh coat of paint and updated some scenes. For example, they made a nice starry night scene when Brer Rabbit is singing at the end. The main new element is the lap bars. The lap bars (in my opinion) are great. I hated not being able to hold onto something (barely) when you go down the drop. But I think yesterday they were having a problem with it loading. Every time I went on the ride kept stopping and according to a CM it was due to the lap bars. Idk why, but I guess the guests didnt realize the lap bars were there. Anyway, overall happy for the rehab. Sorry I did not grab pics

splash mountain did open on its scheduled date 2.1.11, at park open. the ride has been cycling (running the ride normally, just without guests) since late last week, so the flume has not been dry.

the interior show scenes were not changed, but adjustments to lighting and fresh paint has made many details more prominent. the audio is clear and running properly.

the addition of the lap bar actually makes for more room in each row, because the large "face-pad" with attached handles were removed. there is only a small strip of padding on the back of the seat in front of you.

guests are getting a little wetter now, due to the different weight distribution in the logs.

there is not any new safety spiel- all queue (including audio) remained the same.

the ride stopped briefly a lot yesterday for several reasons. there were a lot of logs in the flume, causing cascades. also, guests not lowering the lap bar properly caused many station stops. though this doesn't stop the ride, if they happen too often, they can cause a cascade.

overall, the ride looks amazing, and the lap bars really aren't bad :)

Thanks for this great update! So happy to hear about the new scene at the end-really looking forward to seeing that as well as the lapbars.
