I just received my itinerary and when going through it, I found that it has refillable mugs as part of the package. Is that right? I have never gotten the mugs free before. I have the quick service meal plan, maybe it is part of that?

I would double check on this one.
We got refillable mugs the last time we we got the quick service dining plan last fall, but I thought I read somewhere that they were NOT going to include the refillable mugs in the 2011 quick service dining plan.

Again, I'm not positive about this, but I definitely remember reading about it somewhere so I would definitely check before purchasing this plan. Personally, we wouldn't get the plan again w/o the mugs included.

I have reservations for March 2011 and the mugs are included on my paperwork as part of the QS dining plan.

I got one last year with QS dining plan, but didn't really use it very much. You get a drink with your meal anyway, so if I ate at the food court for breakfast, I didn't use the mug because I didn't want to have to carry it the rest of the day in the parks. A couple of evenings I did walk over to the food court after I got back to my room, but I can see that for me it wouldn't have been worth buying. Makes a nice souvenier though.

the mugs are part of any dinning plan. you can fill them at your resort in their qsr area. you get a souvenir and coffee/tea/hot choc in the morning and soft drinks at night.

I am mad when people at the resorts hog the line using non-disney mugs; hello they are like $15, stop stealing.

You don't get the mugs with all the dining plans unfortunately. Only the quick service and deluxe plans.

when did they change that?
It has been that way for quite a wile. I have been able to go back as far as 2007 with official documentation and 2005 with unofficial records and there is no mention of the mug with the basic (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack) Disney dining plan.

We used our mug for our beverages with breakfast or any other meal we had at the resort. We then had a runner (one of the teens) return them to the room. This enabled us to take the bottled beverage that came with the meals into the park. It was one less drink we had to purchase. :sohappy:

Well you can only use them at the resort not at the parks so unless you have stayed on property before, its understandable why you haven't seen them.

They are a decent size. I use mine for coffee in the morning at home now. Here's a picture of last years(Im guessing the image is changing for this year?)

I was wondering about that. We had the dining plan (1 table sevice, one snack) last August and didn't get the mugs included. I thought I had missed something.

I have never noticed that. So if I get the middle plan, I get screwed out of a mug. what bean counter thought of that one?

They are like 20 or 16 oz. They had a choice before of those and slightly larger ones.

We use ours lots, altho I suppose it is dependent to a certain extent on how far away your room is from the food court.

I like to pop down for a pre-breakfast coffee, then have at least one more drink at breakfast time. In the afternoon when we return to our rooms to re-charge our battreries we usually get coke or something to have with the duty free spirits we keep in our room. Then usually use them again for a before-bed drink. Also we use them to fill our magic bottles for the park. That is a minimum, we often have more than that, we chilly Brits need plenty to drink in hot weather, we aren't used to it. We find them invaluable.
