Coke vs Pepsi Questions

I think disney would lean towards coke as it has a larger international presense than pepsi does... anyone ever have a stange feeling that the fountain coke at WDW seems to taste different than fountain coke off property... I always had a feeling it did.
McDonald's and Disney have what I call "magic coke": coke that is, for some unknown reason, better than anywhere else. :slurp:

I like Pepsi better myself, especially Pepsi Wild Cherry. :slurp: For some reason, it just tastes way better than Cherry Coke.

screw both Pepsi AND Coke...bring me my root beer

:lookaroun Maybe, but i'm waiting for a good Sarsaparilla first :lookaroun

I wish Disney had Pepsi because I like Pepsi better, and Pepsi also makes Mountain Dew, the best soft drink in existence.

In my honest opinion... SURGE was the best soft drink in existence.. I wish Coke would include it at Club cool, seeing it's still sold in Norway. :lookaroun

Just to jump off topic for a second...the local theme park (Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut) has free Pepsi. Open soda dispenser with stacks of cups. I wonder if Pepsi provides that for free??

I really don't see Coke leaving Disney any time soon, and with a 50 year agreement signed back in 1990, probably not in my lifetime.

I'm with you on that one. Disney Coke tastes nothing like Coke. I've always blamed it on the fact Disney Coke is made with water from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Disney water doesn't taste the same as other water. Its all the treatment they have to go through in FL.

I remember one of my last couple trips washing my hands in the airport and saying to my brother I knew we were near Disney since all the water smelled like chlorine.

I don't disagree. It's like that in a lot of places (restaurants & such) for whatever reason.

The reason...

If you're getting a pop from a soda fountain (ie, like the self serve ones in WDW food courts, or the local BK or Taco Bell) it will always taste different... They use the base compound syrup to mix with the local water supply (plus add in the carbonation) to make your drink.

Sometimes the machines get out of calibration and run low on syrup or carbonation or add too much water and that can make the taste different (or flat).

It's the local water supply that causes the greatest change the flavour of the fountain pop... different fluouride levels, filtration processes and minerals will affect the flavour.

Even if you buy canned or bottle pop you will find a slight difference, but that's mostly due to the bottling facility's respective water source.

I believe early on Pepsi did have a contract with WDW to supply all the pop on property, but couldn't keep up with demand and ran out one busy weekend and that's when Coke jumped on the ball and basically won the contract.

Coke outsells Pepsi 2 to 1.

It occurs to me that "Magic Coke" would be an excellent name for a rock band.

Sounds like a drug to me

I don't drink soda much anymore, and when I do it's sprite/sierra mist. However when in FL I must have a strawberry fanta. They don't have it anywhere in NY that I've seen and it tastes amazing.

I also wish they could mix up their energy drink selection. Rockstar just tastes awful. I know amp is by pepsi, but red bull would be great. Although an 8 oz. can would probably cost $3-4. :brick:

Coca Cola as a corporation, is pretty environmentally friendly, and I like that. They also donate to animal shelters and such. They run their business with a conscience. :sohappy:

What ever happened to Mr. Pib?

"They call me Mr. Pib"

:slurp:

I'm not positive, but I thought that the Beach Club Marketplace has Mr. Pib as an option where they have refillable mugs. Not certain though.

I also have seen Vault at one of the All Star Resorts.

A few years ago they used to have Mello Yello (coke's version of Mountain Dew) at Sunshine Seasons at the Land Pavilion. I would like to see that at the resorts.
