Honestly I just thought about that the last time I was there. Why do they not do that anymore? There is still the dock where the lineup probably used to be. I never did it and I can imagine it would have been peaceful and interesting.

Why no more boat rides around Cinderella's Castle?

I honestly don't think there's a good reason, save for low capacity.
Yeah I never got to do that in all my years going either. I imagine thats why the got ride of it because you and I werent the only ones going on this attraction. They eliminated a similiar one at Animal Kingdom too, I wouldve liked to have done that one

The Swan Boats that used to take the trip around the front of Cinderella Castle were plagued with mechanical problems and there were also logistical problems with the number of people that wanted to ride and the length of the lines.
Similar problems occured with the boats that used to circle Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom. It was simply not practical to handle the many riders with a slow boat and a slow loading process.
I remember seeing and riding the Swan Boats at Christmas of 1971!

I think a better question is why doesn't Disney either tear down or paint those awful looking what used to be red structures right over the water that are rusting away?

Another point is it didn't really make sense to for a giant Swan to be in AL.

Technicaly the castle is in the Hub not MSUSA
anf why can't there be a haunted house in colonial America, makes sense to me :shrug:

The change in architecture and feel is quite abrupt, but I almost like that. Stops you for a second.

They could easily scrap the swan theme and just make them boats. Swans are not a valid excuse.

If you want to go that route, what is the point of the TTA?:shrug:
If you could make it low maintenance (they obviously make it work in Disneyland for Storybook Canal), then why not? It would cheap to run and some guests would find enjoyment in it.

The swan boat ride path included a trip into Adventureland and a circle around the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.technically wouldn't the swan boats have run right IN FRONT of Adventureland???

Capacity would be my guest. Too many uninformed guests who would see a line forming and just get on it. Much the same way to AK boats met their demise. I personally do not miss the swan boats. However if they ever came back, I would most certainly take a ride once a trip.
