Good Lunch/Sandwich Places at the Resorts?

We typically always eat at the parks, but my Dad has decided that if we go this August, we're going for like 12 days and we're taking days off in between the parks so it feels like an actual relaxing vacation - good luck Dad.

But I'd really like to find some good lunch places to eat on property...what do you suggest?

Our Eating Habits: We like sandwiches, burgers, soups, etc. for lunch. Nothing really heavy, nothing too unusual. For example, typically we eat at The Grand Floridian Cafe, The Plaza, Earl of Sandwich, etc. for lunch. Thoughts on other great places?

The Earl is great.

I also like Ragland Road, the burgers are awesome and at lunch it is much quieter than for dinner, could be good or bad depending on what your looking for.

Most of the resort eateries are have a nice casual feel. My personal favorites are Boatwright's--Port Orleans, The Artist's Pallet--Saratoga Springs, and Shutter's--Caribbean Beach.

Some of these are only open seasonally for lunch so check the hours before you head down.

You might also try Picnic in the Park. Its in the Animal Kingdom, but it is a new thing where you order a lunch and then pick it up as a to lunch and can eat it anywhere in the park.

Picnic in the parks has been discontinued. The current thinking is that it might return during the busier season.

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge does lunch. They have more than just sandwiches on the menu but it's a fun place to eat. You get a small show along with your meal, the staff is very fun.

Plus the lobby of the WL is just breathtaking and you could spend an afternoon just walking around and enjoying the resort.

I like the food court areas at the Poly and wilderness lodge, they both had good food last time i ate there and it was fun to walk around. Oh and the Boardwalk area is a great place to hang out one day, you can walk over to the Dolphin, they have a little diner in there that had good hamburgers and icecream.

Also like Beaches and cream at the Beach Club for lunch as well as Big River Grille at the Boardwalk and the Fountain at the Dolphin. Discounts at all with DVC membership, not sure about AP discounts.

There are nice sandwiches and salads at the Beach Club Marketplace and you could have your lunch on the beach as a break from Epcot or HS.

Earl of Sandwich of course is delicious but if you're at MK and you want a change, hop on the resort monorail or just walk (it's only 5 minute walk time!) to the Contemporary. The Contempo Cafe has REALLY yummy flatbreads and their burgers are much nicer then in park with nice whole grain buns.

I am a HUGE fan of Captain Cooks at the Poly! They have the most amazing adult grilled cheese sandwich! Seriously one of the most amazing Disney sandwiches I've had. Very, very tasty. It has swiss, chedder and boursin cheeses with tomato and lettuce. I was nervous to try it, but it was well worth it.
