Help me figure out when to plan dinner on arrival day

We will be landing @ 2:50 pm, then taking DME to Pop Century. I want to make dinner reservations for Whispering Canyon that evening, but don't know how much time to alot myself for transporation to the hotel, check in, and then trying to figure out the quickest way to get from Pop to Wilderness. Any ideas on what time would be safe to plan dinner? We also want to hit Downtown Disney sometime that evening. Is this all possible?

I agree with the taxi idea. It will certainly cost money, but trying to get everywhere by bus with limited time would be difficult.

I personally never plan a dinner on arrival day b/c you just don't know how long everything is going take. If you plan it too early you could be rushing to get to it or even miss your ADR and then if you plan it too late you'll be waiting around for it and/or starving!

We have a long travel day by the time we get to Disney so we always eat in the food court or some CS in Epcot (usually our first park). I've done the ADR thing on arrival day and it's never worked out for us. We're always so hungry that we just can't wait for our ADR time and we end up eating (usually something small but it still takes away our appetite for dinner).

Now maybe you won't be as hungry as us or have as long of a travel day so maybe waiting for an ADR won't be that big of deal for you.

I would say to make dinner ADR for 7:00 at the earliest.

Don't know that flight will be on time...expect DME to take an hour, check in another half hour.

If you don't do a taxi, you will need to take a bus to a park then either take a bus from park to WL or if you go to MK, you can take a boat. Either way, you need to plan for that to take up to two hours (sure, you might get lucky and hit it just right and do it in about an hour, but don't count on it)

As DTD is open much later, hitting that for some time after dinner shouldn't be a problem. I like the suggestion by someone else that if you plan on going to DTD, it would be much easier just to eat there.

From Pop to WL, a theme park should be the intermediate point. If I didn't take a taxi, I'd take a bus to either Studios or Epcot, then catch the bus to the WL from there.

If you REALLY want to take the boat, take a bus from Pop to MK, then the resort launch to WL.

Thanks for catching that. I was thinking that but my fingers didn't type it. Correction made.
