Just wanted to provide a few notes about our TS dining experiences the last few days of December....
Hoop Dee Doo -- our first time here. Really fun time. I thought the food was good, especially considering that they have it all hot for every table at the exact same time. This is an accomplishment in and of itself, as that takes quite a bit of work to pull off.
Really enjoyed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. DS (11) loved the sweet cornbread and ate 5 pieces of it. Ribs were good; not as good as my own (wink), but were good. Beans, good; mac n cheese not as good. Strawberry shortcake was not my favorite. I had expected it to be much better.
Whispering Canyon -- breakfast. None of us ordered the ayce skillet. We had pancakes/sausage, waffle & eggs/bacon/potatoes plates. All was good, not great. Nothing spectacular here. Atmosphere was fun, but the room was only 2/3 full, and only one waitress was really "in" to the theme. The others did a passable job, but it wasn't a "hopping good time" either. I would say only go if you are staying at the lodge and it's convenient. I wouldn't make a special trip over just to eat there.
LTT -- we really enjoyed this meal. It has gotten some bad press on this board lately, but we all really liked it. However, I will say that we certainly exceeded our sodium intake max. for the day with this one meal. I don't know how to describe it, b/c nothing actually tasted salty but the ham, but you could definitely tell that everything had a lot of salt in it. The flank steak was very flavorful, and we asked for a second helping. Everything else was good as well. I would definitely eat here again even though I missed the characters.
to be continued....
