The prominence of Apple

Who says being on the company board doesn't have perks! Not only is Apple referenced to in Spaceship Earth, but I only recently realized, that the sound that chimes when Wall-E finishes charging himself up in the sun is none other than the boot up sound for a Macintosh. Craziness!!!!

When I first heard that, I wasn't sure if it was just a cute little joke or product placement. I then decided to stop worrying about something so stupid and just enjoy the movie!

I'm staying out of the Apple vs PC debate this time around.

But, just for the record, Apple is the superior machine. :sohappy:

They are good (not perfect mind you) when they are working, but the aftercare support is seriously rubbish for such an expensive brand.

If your mac breaks down this is probably your best bet at keeping it usefull (of course a G5 case would look better)....http://www.smorty71.com/2005/11/my-apple-iwipe.html :)

Back on track with product placement, I'm surprised they are not more prominent in the Disney parks.

Just to clarify Apple is never directly mentioned in SSE. They will not even confirm that the person in the garage is Steve Wozniak.

Both are computer companies. Both have different styles. I prefer Windows for more efficiency, Macs for speed.

No, I haven't seen much Apple presence in the parks besides the ones mentioned.

That is all.

if it wasnt for bill gates, apple wouldnt exist at all. hmmmmmmmm...

good luck getting most of the programs made today to work on an apple.

Getting programs to work on an apple? I can't do much with an apple beyond it eat, or bake it in a pie.

I assume by your statement you mean running software on hardware produced by Apple Inc. Not a problem. Current macs can install Windows, OSX, and Linux. I do believe that greater than 99% of software runs on one of those 3 platforms.

Or maybe you meant running software on OSX. Most major software packages either have an OSX version, or there is an equivalent piece of software for OSX that does the same thing. Office? OSX version. Quickbooks, Turbotax? OSX versions. Everything Adobe makes? OSX version. Notice a trend here? Throw in iLife to cover audio, photo, video, and most people are completely covered for software. I will grant that some games don't work on OSX, but there are plenty of XBox360 games that don't have a PS3 version, and Wii games that don't have a version anywhere else, it's part of gaming, and most gamers deal with it, or buy multiple systems.

Not gonna get involved with a OSX vs Windows (since Macs are technically Personal Computers Mac vs PC is redundant) debate, but at least accept that your statement was stubborn and misleading.

The reason why you hear the mac sound in wall-e is because Steve Jobs, who used to be the CEO of Pixar and currently Apple. Apple and Pixar are in close relation with each because of Steve Jobs. Since Disney bought out Pixar Steve Jobs is the largest shareholder of Disney.

Can you share Evan?
Got enough for both of you. :):D

They work fine.

Here. Analogy.

Computer = Car.

Windows, you can build, play around with, write new stuff for, make it your own, works well.

Mac, already done for you, works well.

Both suck, both are great.

I prefer Mac. Just easier for me.

Threaddone.

Epcot Explorer, that is exactly how the PC vs Mac "battle" should be viewed.

Thank you!

I read someone equate it that way on another forum WAY back, and it stuck with me.

Seriously though, both suck. I have a EMachines that has it's USB Hubs crap out from time to time. My MacBook has battery and power issues, and freezes on start up sometimes.

There really is no "better" computer.

Unless Linux is fantastic, or something. I've never even used one of those.
