Next Generation Disney Fans?

There has been something that I alway's hae wanted to ask;

Let's say in about 20-40 years, when there are new Disney fans, will they look back and see some rides we don't care for nowadays (excluding SGE) as classics or at least cult classics that they might feel hasn't gotten enough credit. They might think of Expedition Everest as everyone now thinks of Jungle Cruise or The enchanted Tiki Room. They might consider Tower Of Terror the same way we all consider Space Mountain. Will they appreciate the classics or will they think they are incredibly cheap? Will WDWmagic even still be around?

Just asking.

I was wondering that too...maybe in the future, AK would become a full day park, and people would look back and say "Wow, AK started out like this?" (Not saying the park is bad, just saying it doesn't have enough rides). :)

That would make sense. MGM/Hollywood Studios started out exactly the same.:)

I know 2 kids that would be royally ticked off if they replaced Test Track with World of Motion 2.0, or The Laugh Floor with Timekeeper 2.0, or Space Ranger Spin with Whoever Has Planes 3.0, or Journey into Imagination w/ Figment with anything that doesn't have said Figment or the Sherman Brothers, or the 3 Caballeros with El Rio 2.0, for starters.

I consider myself to be a very 'current' generation of Disney fan (park wise) as my first visit to any park was only 5 years ago.

Obviously I have lot of nostalgia for the older films that I grew up with but as far as the attractions go, I wan't fussed about things like Jungle Cruse, TTA, CoP until I really got into Disney history.

Most new visitors want thirlling, fast, exciting and new rides and because of that, so many of the old attractions will probably vanish. This is pretty sad but at the same time - Disney world is a theme park, not a museum.

I think that since technology changes so fast now that Disney will have to turn over rides rather frequently in the future. Certainly things like dark rides will be totally outdated. Each generation gets more extreme and what we liked as quaint fun in the 50s thru 70s began to change in the 80s with the use of more technology for rides to be bigger and faster.

But then who knows, Peter Pan seems as popular now as ever...
