Question about Gay Days

Let me begin by saying it is not my intent to offend with this post. I have some friends coming down to WDW during the Gay Days celebration this June. They were concerned about the crowds and events happening in and around the parks.
Here are my questions for those who have been during Gay Days in the past:

1) Are the crowd levels ridiculous?

2) Is there a special agenda which those participating in Gay Days follow? (Like Monday: MK, Tues: DHS, etc.)

3) If you didn't know Gay Days was happening, would you really be able to tell a difference in the parks?

1. I don't know for sure. The crowd calendar at TouringPlans doesn't rate it at the top of the scale, tho.

2. Yes. If you look at the crowd calendar it tells you which park on which day is scheduled for Gay Days. It's not a Disney event but there must be an agenda somewhere that notes which park to visit on which day that has been used to lay out the crowd calendar.

3. I just talked about this with some friends of ours because my brother was considering those dates this year. Our friends inadvertently took their children down during Gay Days many years ago (their kids are 21 & 24 now but were big kids/pre-teens at the time). She said that the kids really weren't aware of it because they were into the Disney experience. She and her hubby figured it out only because of the number of couples that were same gender. She said the crowds weren't bad and the PDAs were less than what you see with hetero-couples. She said they wouldn't bat an eye at going during those days again. It wasn't a bad experience and didn't have any impact on their trip in any way.

Another friend of ours who is a DVC member told us a story about inadvertently taking his family to WDW during Gay Days several years ago. He said that it seemed that the event group all wore the same color shirt each day in each park so it wasn't hard to figure out who was who. He showed up at a park in a red shirt one day and discovered that was the color. It was kinda odd for him but he didn't change shirts or anything. After all, he was walking around with his wife and son. :animwink:

I actually suggested to my brother to go during those dates because I felt like there will be some who won't go because of the event which will make for lighter crowds. It's my understanding that the event participants do not in any way detract from other guests' experiences...not like Brazilian tour groups or dance teams or anything like that. I'd go and I'd have no problem taking my kids.

Here are my questions for those who have been during Gay Days in the past:

1) Are the crowd levels ridiculous? It can be very, very crowded.

2) Is there a special agenda which those participating in Gay Days follow? (Like Monday: MK, Tues: DHS, etc.) There is a website. Just avoid the parks on the days listed.
3) If you didn't know Gay Days was happening, would you really be able to tell a difference in the parks? Yes. Nothing overtly sexual, except perhaps in the private parties, which I've never attended. You might see hand-holding, and certainly more same gender groups. Also, lots of red shirts.

Since this topic has always resulted in becoming heated (at least for the last 8 years) I will close it. ;)
