The Outer Rim bar in the Grand Canyon Concourse at the Contemporary reopened last night, situated around the area where the Tempo Grab 'n' Go used to be. With it is a nice new signage arch spanning the entrances for the Outer Rim, Chef Mickey's, and Contempo Cafe. There is also new carpet throughout Chef Mickey's, as well as a new seating area where the back part of the Outer Rim used to be. There are supposed to be some more aesthetic changes for Chef Mickey's over the next few months to completely pull the restaurant out of the old decor style.

Concourse Sundries and Spirits is now closed, to become Fantasia Market in a couple of months, with expanded offerings to better serve the upcoming DVC Guests at the Bay Lake Tower.

If I can ever find the cord to attach my camera to my iMac, I might be able to get some pictures up for y'all.

I love the continuity of the Grand Canyon references in the Grand Canyon Concourse. What's great is that the actual "Outer Rim" of the Grand Canyon N.P. in AZ features several hotels or "lodges" built in the 1960s of a very "contemporary" style, quite unlike the more famous rustic hotels nearby. So even though the grand form of the Contemporary Resort does not quite resemble the natural splendor of G.C.N.P., its architecture echoes a couple of the 1960s lodges built in G.C.N.P..

...Monorail drinks?! Tell me more! Tell me more!

There's something like three or so Monorail drinks that they've made in the past. I think at least a couple of them are in one of the Disney cookbooks. The only one I've had is Monorail Yellow, which has pineapple and I forget what else in it. I know it's been discussed in the forums here before, let me see if I can dredge that thread up...
