Tricera Top Spin, Liberty Square Riverboat, Restaurantosaurus, and PO pool refurbs

Wow, and here I thought Disney was not throwing money into the parks. I was lead to believe this by reading some posts here. Guess Disney is putting some care into their existing attractions.

Though we'd all love new E-Tickets every year, it's good to see they're taking care of existing issues one by one. There's still plenty in the works, believe me. As of right now though, refurbs are still a good sign.

I think it is an excellent sign. If only people would stop complaining because Disney is not announcing or rolling out a huge e-ticket any time soon. I think this huge refurb list shows they DO care about their product and park.

It pays to read these boards with discernment that is all I will say. :zipit:

Fortunately there are very reliable people here especially the owner of the sight.

The refurb list for the first quarter of 2009 is huuuuge. Probably the biggest I have seen since running WDWMAGIC.

The full list is at

Wow, I don't know anything about the history of Disney and its refurbs but I thought this was pretty good and at least they're keeping on top of things. Little refurbs are betting nothing... even if it's just a coat of paint or a good cleaning!

That post was meant to be filled with sarcasm directed at those who complain about Disney not keeping up with, caring about, or doing anything for WDW's parks.. :) Sorry if it didn't come off this way.

No no, I understood.

My replys are usually for others not just the person I quoted. Your post was pitch perfect. Maybe I can retire soon.

Triceritops Spin and the Riverboat were stripped down and rebuilt during my tenure at WDW. I remember the Riverboat refurb fondly because it was down for a LONG time and Phil Holmes made a big deal about "rechristening" the boat when it came back online a couple of years ago.

Not to say there aren't legitimate reasons to bring the rides down because knowing Disney's maintenance record there are probably critical ops elements that need replacing*, but as far as real re-inventment into the parks, it simply ain't happening right now.

* And its not worth debating Disney's illustrious maintenance standards in FL right now. The show onstage is crap and they're willingly running rides that are in extreme disrepair to the point of being dangerous for normal operation. I'm looking right at ya Space Mountain!

Personally I'd love to see them ride the riverboat right out of the magic kingdom and onto BL/SSL. I'm sure they could do something cool with it out there. The dock and boat removed from Liberty Square would allow them to actually make it a real "Square" and there would be many other benefits.

Plus the riverboat is not scaled properly. Just my opinion.

Yes. We should all get all hot and excited by Disney finally giving NORMAL TLC to attractions.

Sad that so many 'fans' have become conditioned to The Mouse lowering quality and standards so far that they'll get excited by the mundane.

Maybe it' just me, but I don't get excited by them doing the bare minimum to have attractions show worthy.

You do realize that many Mouse-lovers are sticking their fingers in their ears yelling 'I can't hear you ... nah-nah-nah' while snorting pixie dust by the plateful?
