I find it incredibly amusing when it rains on me at Disney World. I don't know, I find it fun. Can't say why exactly. Maybe it's the simple fact that I'm at Disney World but I always laugh when I get rained on. (Mind you, it hasn't happened to me alot)

My family also finds it amusing. We used to go in August every year (parents never pulled us out of school, and this continued from the time i was in Kindergarden to ending graduate school) and it rained like clockwork every day. It would be hot sunny and muggy all morning/early afternoon, and then it would rain like a monsoon for 20 minutes right when the 3oclock parade would start.

We told my husband about the "daily rainfall" before his first trip down there with the family. Of course the 2 times that he's gone (each 7-10 day trips) IT DID NOT RAIN ONE DROP THE ENTIRE TIME!!!! He doesn't believe us about the rain. LOL!!!

I love the rain but especially at WDW. and especially at DAK! I think it really adds to the theming! I must say that I do start to randomly crack up everytime I pass Tatooine Traders because My family and I were stuck in there once for about 45 minutes when Lightning struck the AT-AT

I also think subconciously(sp?) it might have to do with the fact that I can bust out my awesome Mickey PONCHO!!!! HAHAHA

Count me in, I love it when people look at me like I am crazy for walking out in a summer rain storm. It is so worth getting a little wet to walk-on M:S two days after the 4th of July

I agree, however the air conditioning CAN be a little much when you're soaked to the bone.

I love rain at WDW. Especially at DAK as Yensid has said. Durring my summer camp it rained crazy when we got off of Dinosaur and we decided to run all the way to the entrance durring the down pour. It was our last day so we didn't want to waste anytime I guess. It was surprisingly really really fun. We ran through a puddle on the way to the buses and it turned out to be a foot deep because the drain was blocked up or something. All of my clothes were wet when I put them in my suitcase that night. Mother was mad lol.

It's REALLY fun to watch people run from the rain at...the waterparks. You're already wet, but you don't want to get wetter? I don't know, but I do know it means more room in the creek and less lines on the slides for me. I loves me some WDW rain.

During my honeymoon last year we hit EPCOT just as a storm hit. as we got through the gates we thought we would book it to a building. Didn't see the huge puddle in front of me. At this point, I found every single puddle I could find and splashed in it. A small child was doing the same thing in front of me so I joined in. My new wife was a little embarressed, but she did know who she was marrying....A 30 year old child.. lol

P.S.

I just happened to find my Pirates Crocs the very same day. much better to splash in puddles then runners

I enjoy being at Disney in the rain because it deterrs alot of people from going to the parks or venturing out of the buildings in the parks to go on the rides, so there are shorter lines.

The only time I dont enjoy rain at Disney is while I am working at Fantasmic. We got everything set up for the show last night & it was stopped & cancelled during the cobra scene. We got everything set up & outside tonight when it started pouring 15 minutes before the show. After a 10-15 minute hold due to the rain, the show was cancelled.

I despise the rain! Our trip at the end of August was ruined by Tropical Storm Faye and the 5 out of 8 days of constant rain. Luckilly we had 2 to 3 days of partial sun and warmth to make up for it, but it defintely ruined the excitement of going. Half the point of the parks is enjoying the themeing and surroundings.. when it's raining the rides are short and fun, but coming back out to an all day pour down is not.

I'm never going at the end of August again. :p

Little Rain, is ok. But this past trip, my wife and I bought ponchos(Disney you gotta make em longer, they barley get past my waist) and took off for Animal Kingdom, thinking, that would be a place folks would avoid because of the drizzle.
Well the rain stopped, we rode Expedition Everest twice, had a ball seeing a bunch of stuff.
So we decide to ride the Rapids. On go the ponchos again and we are off down the rapids...here is where there is some irony. It starts to pour about 5 seconds into the ride. I mean it dumped! We got double soaked from the ride and rain, which kept on pouring it on as we waited to get off, which took awhole because the boats were backed up. We were a wet mess.
Only saving grace?
We sloshed over to the t-shirt shop, got two EV themed shirts (people were still riding it in the downpour), walked around soaked and rode dinosaur, and hit the Yak and Yeti for a nice dry meal(we changed into the new shirts). It was pleasent and nice to be inside with the rain pounding outside.

There really aren't a lot of places for cover in AK.

I kind of like it. My last trip was a solo one and on my last night I watched illuminations during a downpour. The poncho works for only so long. I got soaked. But it was my last night and I certainly was not going to miss illuminations. After awhile you just stop trying to stay dry and accept the fact that you are soaked.

I love it when it rains,i went to MNSSHP last year ( the first night of the event ) and it was raining for a good two hours solid. From what i can remember they canceld the first parade. We walked out and they were offering free passes to come back another day.We had 14 day ultimate pass anyway and are from the uk so its not like we needed it.So yes, i do find the rain funny, it always makes me smile when in WDW because of what happend that night.

On my first few trips it used to bother me, i used to get all annoyed that the raid was affecting my trip and stuff.

But this last time, me and my brothers were running in the rain, splashing each other, and jumping through the little splash area in Epcot, acting like little 3 year olds, was some of the best fun we had over the two weeks.

Its was kinda a crazy moment, we had landed say three hours before that, the UK has had a very crap summer this year, with nothing but rain, and we landed and it rained, but as you know Florida rain is warm, and UK rain is well VERY COLD, so i think the Sleep depravation, 9.5 hours cabin fever and the excitement of finally being at Disney got to us.
