I also happened upon this new t-shirt at the Haunted Mansion cart today. It's a ladies t-shirt. I think it's $26. Pretty cool that we're seeing more attraction specific stuff.

vickyvale, you've become the regular HM attraction merchandise expert on WDWMagic. Thanks for the update, and these shirts are a good sign, even if I do think the actual designs are, well, really ugly.

It's really sad that the merchandise for such a cclassic attraction is still underelaborated. Although I appreciate that finally some new HM-t-shirts are available, I am a little disappointed by the design.

I know it is kinda off topic but the spiders on the shirt reminded me of the question. In the first year or so of the ride wasn't there a guy being eaten by one of the spiders or something?
Any help would be great.

Nope. The HM is pretty much the same now as it was on opening day, and I'm talking opening day August 1969. Aside from the minor enhancements and technology upgrades. The HM never had anything that graphic within its wailing walls. This sounds like another story spun from when the HM at DL was still under construction.

^^ Jason Surrell's Haunted Mansion book specifically states the man in the spider web was in the attraction when it opened, but he also claims no pics exist. This makes me think it's just an urban legend that Imagineers enjoy popularizing.

Hmmm, now that I think of it, I do remember that. I guess there might have been then. Afterall, we know the hatbox ghost was in the ride even though there are no pictures of it in the attraction itself. So the man in the spiderweb, even without pictures, could have existed.

I'd call the 'Escher' staircase scene more than a minor or technological upgrade.

How about some Thunder Mountain merchandise too! I don't seem to remember seeing any in years. I think in the late 90's my sons got kids t-shirts but that was about it.

Maybe they've heard us complaining about the lack of merch and will be bringing more out. :)
