Magical Express and Saratoga springs

How does Magical Express work with DVC resorts? I know you have to make separate arrangements, but do they just put you on a bus with other resort guests and you are dropped off later? Do you have a bus just for saratoga springs?

thanks

DME services all the Disney resorts. You may stop at up to three different resorts on your way, depending on demand at the time. The service is the same for DVC resorts as for others.

I stayed at Saratoga in March and we made a stop at OKW first. It really was no big deal because it only took an extra five minutes or so.

They line you up at the airport according to which resort you are staying in. We just stayed at the Boardwalk and there were 3 other resorts on the same bus, but we were the first stop!!!! ENJOY your trip.

As far as DME goes, DVC resorts are treated no differently than any other resort is treated.

DME is a shared ride. You will be on a bus with guests from up to 3 other resorts. They try to be as efficient as possible. If there are enough riders, your resort will be grouped with others in the same geographical zone (which includes Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, Old Key West, and Fort Wilderness Campground.

If you are on a bus with a resort outside that zone, then there will be guests from no more than 2 other resorts (to balance out the increased travel time).

We have a split stay this summer, 5 nights at BWV and 2 nights at SSR, since we are using DME how do we get to SSR for our last 2 days? Does Disney provide us transportation over to SSR from BWV?

When we went in November, we stayed at POR and they put us on a bus with SSR, OKW, and POFQ guests. They are all very close to one another so it wasn't a big deal. So to answer your question, SSR has a DME line just like all the other Disney resorts.

Disney doesn't provide direct transportation from one hotel to another when you're moving. DME is strictly from airport to hotel and back again. You'll have to rely on the internal WDW transportation system to get from one place to the other (i.e. using a theme park or Downtown Disney as a hub to change buses) or pay for a taxi, just as you would if you wanted to simply visit a different hotel than the one you're staying in.

What Disney *will* do, however, is move your luggage for you. Simply make arrangements with Bell Services at your first resort, and they will pick up your bags on your check-out day and transport them to the second resort. Then if you wanted to, you could even go to a theme park for a few hours, and then just catch the bus for SSR to go check in.

When dealing with DME, you'll have to remember to book your arrival on the first hotel reservation, and your departure back to the airport on your second hotel reservation. And if you accidentally get two sets of luggage tags (one for BWV and one for SSR), throw out the SSR ones! If you accidentally put the SSR ones on your luggage, it'll be a major problem getting it transported from the airport... (Because the system will say that the luggage is arriving 5 days before your check-in date)

We did a split this year between Swan and Saratoga Springs and Just call the night before or the morning that You are leaving that resort and they will send Your bags over to the new resort. I don't think they offer any transport for the guest though. Not sure, but don't think so. Your bags may take most of the day to transfer, they don't ship them right away. Your new room would not be ready most times anyway, so We just had the bags sent and went to the parks for a few hrs. and went to the second Resort later on to check in. We still had to call for our bags hrs. after checking into the new resort, so don't expect them right away. Good luck and enjoy.
