Screamscape has posted a series of absolutely amazing photos of the demo of one of the Treehouse Villas. Anyone who was thinking the villas were only getting new furniture and carpet might want to think again. By the way it does look like a segment of "Extreme Home Makeover Show". Pretty cool.

Don't they usually remove glass, etc., before demolition? I guess they're just gonna cover everything up after they do their cleanup?
It depends on what kind of demolition is going on. If a building is to be imploded the glass is almost always removed. For the type of demolition being done on the tree houses it is not necessary and is kind of up to the contractor.

From the look of things this is the same company that demolished the wand :ROFLOL:

Can't wait to see the new structures!

The original blgs were not required to be handicap accessible, but I didn't see an elevator in the blueprint (see link to DVCnews above) for the new structures. How will the new tree houses comply with the ADA?

I'm so glad I grabbed some photos of the dormant Treehouses a couple weeks ago! I was wondering when demolition/construction would begin - I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

As far as I know they will not be ADA compliant. The only way I know that they can get away with this to to have the tree house villas be a a part of another resort that has ADA compliant rooms. In this case it would more than likely be SSR.

Disney is required to provide accomadations that are ADA compliant. However they are not required to make every accomadation ADA compliant.

I am currently at POFQ and if you take the boat to DTD you can see two are already knocked down and one more is on the way, there are tractors on site.

They can't move fast enough for my taste. Those building had become downright ugly after the storms.
