Wishes Fireworks Cancelled for MNSSHP?

I was looking at the schedule for October and I noticed there seems to be no Wishes fireworks on the nights of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. If I remember correctly in recent years they had Wishes at 6:00 pm and then Hallowishes around 9:30 pm. They are able to do this at that time of year because it gets dark early enough to have the two fireworks shows, that would not be possible in the summer of course.

If I read the schedule correctly and there is no more Wishes on MNSSHP nights then it seems to me the regular park guests who do not buy a special (and now more expensive than ever) Party ticket will not get to see any fireworks those nights. If indeed they raised the MNSSHP tickets by around $10 AND they cut out a fireworks show those nights, that seems like an outrageous price increase to me, we should be getting MORE for that new price not LESS.

Does anyone know if this correct or is it possible they just haven't posted the Wishes schedule for October yet?

I do not know officially but it has been my experience that wishes does not run when there is a MNSSHP scheduled but my experience with it is limited to only a few nights per year.

Wishes fireworks

This past January, I made an ADR for supper at California Grill :slurp: to watch the fireworks on the last night of our vacation. Before we left home, the schedule posted on the web indicated MK fireworks at 6:30 & 10 pm for the P&PP.

We spent that day at MK :king:. Late afternoon, signs came out indicating the next presentation of "Wishes" would be the following day. :(

Our waitress at the Grill, who said she worked there for over 10 years, said MK only have Wishes/fireworks once a day. We could only linger over our meal for so long with an 8 & 5 years old. The view was spectacular, food was excellent, the hostess was gratious and invited us back for the fireworks which were at 10 pm for the P&PP.:cool:

Good luck :animwink:

I know on Oct 2 it is only the mnsshp fireworks at 9:30. I am getting married that day at the chapel and we are have the reception in the private rooms of the california grill. We were hoping for wishes but Owell at least there will be fireworks

I know it doesn't have the same meaning behind them as wishes....but I don't think you will be disappointed at all with the show that Hallowishes puts on. By far one of the most impressive firework displays I have seen.

I am not saying Hallowishes is not a great show, it is fantastic. My point is simply that it seems unfair to regular MK visitors if there are no Wishes fireworks that day AND they have to deal with early closing too if they don't want to spend another $50 for MNSSHP. That simply seems unfair to me, especially because I clearly remember there being Wishes and Hallowishes at least when I was there during October the past two years.

we shuold just be glad there are any fireworks in the fall. many years ago, like the first 25 years of wdw, there were no fireworks generally after labor day weekend till thanksgiving weekend. the park closed at 7 or 8 & that was end of the story. no main street electrical parade, no anything special, just park closed. be glad they figured out it was worth the $$ to spend on fireworks to keep guests in the park later to shop, eat, & have a good time.

When I was there last year it was still daylight....it would really take away from the effect that wishes has during the night. Just my opinion but I don't think it would really be worth the time and money to have it.

Since HalloWishes uses the same equipment (and more) as Wishes does, there isn`t time to restock after one show for the next. The biggest issue along these lines of value for money is park closing hours full stop. Remember when the MK & EPCOT were open until midnight each night in summer? And MGM 11pm? AND tickets cost less?

From what I remember, Wishes was not done of the night of the MNSSHP. Nights when there was no party I think they might run wishes. The MNSSHP fireworks are great though.

Last year, Hallowishes was the only fireworks show at the MK on party nights. For MVMCP, both Wishes and Holiday Wishes are shown. Keep in mind that this is after the time change it gets darker much earlier!

I remember when the Pirate & Princess parties started in early 07, both Wishes and Magic, Music & Mayhem were shown (in addition to the observation about MVMCP nights made above).

I don't recall whether both have ever been done on a Halloween party night. All of the parties are starting to blur together for me at this point.

Double Wishes shows will only be presented on Christmas party nights. We have never presented double show on Halloween nights due to there is still daylight at park close for the party. We did run double shows for P&P in the first half of 2007. This was not the case this year.
