Water Park Fun & More Option Question

Hello everyone! We are booked for Sept. 10-17th at POFQ. My 10 year year old now has me convinced that we should add the Water Park Fun & More option to our tickets, but I have some questions. I searched the Disney site but could not get the answers I was looking for. I know I can get the answers from the WDW Magic faithful.

1) With that option on a 7 day MYW ticket, How many total times could we visit a water park and Disney Quest?

2) I currently have not opted for Park Hopper. Can I visit a waterpark during the day then, for instance go to MK in the evening?

3) At Disney Quest does the admission include all the activities inside or do you need to pay additional for other features there?

And one final question not relating to Waterpark Fun & More; When is T-Rex sheduled to open in Downtown Disney?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can do a water park and park in the same day without the park hopping option.

There are very few games you pay for inside Disney Quest. They're all games that you win tickets on. Everything else is included in the price of admission.

Well except for food of course.:)

1)You have a total of 7 fun visits.
2)You can visit a water park in the morning and another park at night, but without the park hopper option that will take 2 days off your ticket.
3)There are very few options that you must pay additional money for, ive gone twice and had a fun evening not paying any additional money.

I think maybe you misunderstood becuase number 2 is not correct. Visiting a water park and another park at night will only take one day off your ticket. Visiting a water park will use one of your 7 fun visits, it will not affect your park ticket.

May I suggest you strongly look into getting the park hopper option added. It's a great feature! It gives you so much freedom and flexibility to your vacation. Splitting up your days in different parks is always a nice change of pace. And sometimes you just NEED the park hopper option. For example, if you go to Animal Kingdom for the day it closes at 5 pm, if you had park hopper on your ticket you'd be able to go to another park for the evening. Another example, if you went to a park and you found it quite busy that day you could hop out to another park and try that one. If you have the dining plan and or you're eating at a few table service restaurants during your stay, you would be limited to eating in the park where you're spending the day. If you had a park hopper ticket it would open up your restaurant choices a little more as you could move around during the day. Just my 2 cents - I personally wouldn't be able to go without it!!!

Since my sons and I are big fans of the water parks and Disney Quest, the Water Park Fun & More option is essential. It makes the Park Hopper option largely unnecessary. Most days, we spend the morning at one of the water parks or DQ, then spend the late afternoon and evening at one of the big four parks.

Other days, we would go to Epcot in the morning, back to the resort in the afternoon, then back to Epcot at night. This is considered a "re-entry" to Epcot, so it only counts as one park visited. As a side note, we would typically get Soarin' FastPasses on our way out of Epcot so that we'd have them for when we returned that evening.

whops, thanks for correcting that! I was for some reason thinking if they went to epcot and then the magic kingdom later.

With a base ticket you can only do 1 park a day. If you go to MK in the morning, then go to water park in the afternoon, only park you can return to is MK that evening. Base tickets are very restrictive, and I do not recommend them on a 7 day ticket. You will be stuck in 1 park all day long. Plus a lot of the restaurants are over at Epcot, you have to be in Epcot that day to use those restaurants. Get a park hopper and don't make yourself nuts, you can come and go as you please anywhere you want.....

Just a little thread drift: Is it cheaper to get Magic your way with the water parks & more option or Magic your way with park hopper option?

I never thought of doing the MYW w/ water parks & more as opposed to a park hopper.

There's only like a $3 difference.

Last time we were there for 8 full days and opted not to get the park hoppers. We visited the water parks twice and disney quest once. I can honestly say we never really missed the park hopper option.

I knew we could add it once we got there, but I also knew I was never going to want to visit a second park badly enough to fork out an extra $200 (family of four).:)

Oh I am so glad this topic came up. I was going to start a thread on this very subject. Right now we are going 14 days July 26-August 9. We currently have the 10 day hoppers, but were originally planning on visiting 'the other' parks for 3 days and a day at the beach. But last night our girls - after watching the planning dvd- decided they wanted to try the water parks. We have been to WDW numerous times but never to the water parks. Now I am wondering if I should keep the 10 days or shorten that and add on the water parks and more option.
For those water park veterans-how long do you usually stay at the parks. Specifically have any of you 'swam with the sharks'? The girls were really interested in that, are there any restrictions? Is availability limited? does it cost extra?
Thanks so much!

We swam with sharks!! Twice! It was very cool. The line can get very long so go first thing in the morning. It doesn't cost anything.

We love both the water parks. You could definitely stay a whole day there but we usually stay around 4-5 hours, then back to the hotel for a shower, then to a park for dinner.

It's a great break in the afternoon after a hot day, too.

That's some 10 year old you've got there.

Sorry, couldn't resist. On topic:

My family has used this option numerous times, and it's definitely a good one! Being able to get out of the heat at a water park or DQ is a welcomed retreat sometimes! That being said, we're the family that can't live without the PH option. We've got park ADD.

Where can u swim with sharks and what ages??

We are using the feature as well for the fiorst time this summer. I don't think there is a real need for the hopper if we use this feature.

The Park Hopper option is $45+tax to add onto any ticket.
The Water Parks & More option is $50+tax to add on.

When you add the WP&M option, you get "minor park" admissions equal to the number of theme park days on the ticket. So a 4-day MYW ticket gets 4 WP&M admissions, a 10-day MYW ticket gets 10 WP&M admissions. (The only exception is with a 1-day MYW ticket, you get 2 WP&M admissions)

Think of the theme-park admissions and the WP&M admissions as two separate things on your ticket. Other than the number you get being equal, they're not linked together in any way.

Whether or not you have the Hopper feature on your ticket, you *can* go to multiple "minor parks" in one day, *BUT* each would use up one WP&M admission.
For example: you could do a water park during the day, Disney Quest in the evening and then Pleasure Island at night, but that would use up *three* WP&M admissions. The above example would not use up *any* of the theme park admissions on your ticket, nor does it require the Hopper option.

Lastly, the suggestion I make to anyone who is on the fence about whether or not to get the Hopper option on your ticket... The Hopper feature (and the WP&M option) can be added to a ticket any time before use or within the first 14-days from its first use.
So if you don't know if you'll have a need for the Hopper option, purchase the tickets *without* it. Then if on the afternoon of Day 3 you decide that you'd REALLY like to hop over to another park, just stop at Guest Relations and add that option on. It's a simple transaction that should take less than 5 minutes. And if you go the whole trip without needing it, you've saved $45 per person.

Oh, and for the swimming with the sharks, that's at Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon. No extra charge for it. You snorkel along the surface of the water while looking down at the fish, sharks and other creatures. But they kind of make you swim right across from one side to the other. You can't just float around as much as you want. (Though you CAN get out, run around and get back in line again) And for people who want a longer look, or don't want to get in the water to do it, there's an underwater viewing area, too.

He everyone, thanks for the feedback. It's not that we're on the fence about Park Hopper. We have had Parkhopper in the past and to be honest we really didn't use it enough for it to pay for itself. This will be our third trip since June 07 and we have never hit the waterparks. We love Disney and figure it's time to start experiencing the things we have not done before. My concern was that the Waterparks would count as an admission on our MYW tickets. I'm glad to hear that it is not the case.

Our last trip we did not have Parkhopper and made all our ADR's for the parks were were visiting that day. Worked out great for us. Plus my better half wants to see LaNouba and MNSSHP this next trip. If I don't get Parkhopper that saves $$$ to pay for those tickets.

So which Waterpark should we start with?
