Antics in Cars

On the way to work this morning, the woman in the car next to mine was putting on lipstick and talking on her phone at the same time. I figured if I can see bother her hands, neither is on the steering wheel. I guess it didn’t matter because she wasn’t watching the road either.

This made me think of the long drive I made to Disney (segue) in 1985, when the happiest moment I had was throwing my girlfriend’s Ron Stewart tape out of the car window when she fell asleep. During that drive I saw people reading mail; with road maps open across the windshield; etc…

I’m sure some other posters can contribute.

Thank you, and drive carefully.

Not Disney related at all, but I did see a car weaving along the highway recently. (in no less than 2 lanes at once:brick:) I pull along side the guy, in an effort to drive past very quickly. I glance over and he is nearly sitting in his backseat, texting away, no hands on the wheel, no eyes on the road:eek:

On a Disney note, one morning on the way to the parks, as we were crammed like sardines on the bus, we glanced over to a car next to us and there was a gentleman just DIGGING in his nose. Several folks on the bus noticed him, but he never seemed to notice us, as he just KEPT going back for more.:lookaroun

Makes you want to be a little bit cautious when picking your nose in the car:lookaroun

LOL...don't you mean ROD stewart?? :)
yeah, there's lots of crazies out on the road.....be careful out there!
Maybe that's why I hated that tape so much. Ron must have been Rod's evil twin brother.

The guy who sold me the cassette also sold me a Rolax watch.

Also not Disney related but I saw a guy playing the flute while steering with his knee doing 65 on the highway. He actually drove with out weaving, but it was funny to see.

:ROFLOL: Has she missed the tape yet?

I must say, I do the lipstick thing and I talk on the phone and that's nothing compared to riding in the car in the afternoons with the kids. Now that's a distraction! We go to three schools and traffic is a nightmare. On top of that everyone is talking about their day, fighting over who sits where & what we are going to do when we get home. It can get crazy sometimes and I forget where I'm going.

Hubby and I used to commute 1 1/2 hours each way to work every day. We used to watch people driving on the Causeway bridge (24 mile bridge that spans Lake Pontchartrain) doing 70 or 75 while reading books. Yes, these people would have a book propped in front of the steering wheel reading it, not looking at the road at all. I guess that's better than sleeping, tho. LOL!
