Quick Question: Poly

I had read somewhere that the in-room fridges can be finicky and that there was a "prefect" setting. Anyone know what it is?

When we stayed at the Poly last october, our fridge was broken! So I am not sure what is meant by the perfect setting

I was told the ideal setting for the fridge is 5 :wave:

The settings run 1 to 6, I have heard the perfect setting is 5.

The fridge I had at saratoga had a 1-6 setting as well. I had it at 5. I am not sure if they are the same though since I have not stayed at the poly for some time. Enjoy your trip. Have plenty of dole whips.:wave:

When the Polynesian Resort got it's latest rehab, the clever interior designers decided it would be cool to "Hide" The little refrigerators in cute little cabinets.

Unfortunately, they didn't take into consideration that keeping a fridge in a tight space doesn't allow them enough room to breathe and they tend to overheat.

This happened on our last stay and the Maintenance employee, although somewhat upset and frustrated after having changed/fixed these things several times, was nice enough to explain what had happened and why.

We were told that if we leave the cabinet door open, the fridge would stay cold and not overheat. We were also informed that if it did overheat, to just unplug it for a couple of hours and them plug it back in and it would work fine.

It was a little inconvienient keeping the cabinet door open all the time because it was right on the path to the bathroom and it was easy to bang up against it and trip, but we managed to get through our vacation ok without getting too banged up.

In my opinion, They should just remove the doors from these cabinets.

Well if its like most other dorm style fridges the coils are in the back. They should just take the back off the cabinet or cut a hole as with most furniture the back is a key piece that adds to the strength and sturdiness of the cabinet.
